There's nowhere to jump in between that see. May be looking at it wrong, but I didn't see one.

You have to upgrade your Frame Shift Drive (FSD) under Outfitting, then Core Internals. At the bottom of that screen, you can see how far you're able to jump. I have the 4B FSD and my Cobra 3 can jump 18.23LY

I really want to get into this game, it's just soooo complicated.

It's really not. It has a bit of a long time to get used to everything but once you do it's not too bad. Give it 4-5 hours and you should know everything to get you a really good start and get you on your way.

FSD will increase your jump range, but you'll also need more fule. So you can upgrade your fuel tank to one that holds more capacity. If you are at a station that doesn't have one that's an upgrade try flying to a nearby "High Tech" System and looking on the market for one there. Find a high tech system on the galaxy map by using the filters

High Tech System Filter:



Also when planning routes on the Galaxy Map try switching the route mode to "economical routes". This will make the amount of jumps increase but should plan the route to jumps that you can actually make if any are available.

Economical Routes:



Fastest Routes is for getting there in the least amount of jumps possible, but you will have to fuel scoop more often.

Glad I could help. Those are the little things that are hidden sometimes.


It's been awhile since I've looked at one of these and I've always found them cool. Also I'm not sure if you new players have seen one of these ship scale videos before. Really puts the size of some of the ships in perspective and doesn't make your "tiny" sidewinder feel so tiny.

Ran some passenger missions last night where a group of tourists wanted to get a closer look at some planet surface geysers. One of the sights was simply beautiful.

Yes. You can filter the map by stars visited. I don't have the game in front of me so I can give exact instructions. But if you use the panel on the left and use the bumpers to go over to where you can filter. There's an option for visited and non visited stars there. Hope this helps.

I have not. I am really reading a lot of the politics and thus far I have not leaned to one party/faction or another as of now.

I upgraded to a kick *** Cobra MKIII

Sale value on her is almost 1MM credits with all her upgrades.

My space combat skills have really cranked up and my days wth X-Wing vs Tie Fighter have come back to me like a light bulb.

Have 3 fire groups set up.

Pulse Laser
Guided missles

Rail gun
Torpedo launcher

Pulse laser
Rail gun

Kill warrant scanner
Data scanner


Learning how to transfer power during battles, boost out of trouble, circle back it all has come back to me.

I collected 3 bounties this morning and it felt great.

I am leaning to being a smuggler/bounty hunter type and running missions for those that pay me well.

What's the best way to follow what's happening in the game politically? Just read the reports when you enter stations?

I haven't even touched that part of the game, yet.
