    I'm assuming it's a typo. It's on sale for 39.99 through Prime.

Yes, sorry it was a typo. Meant $39.99.

What I thought was really strange was Walmart got the Xbox One version today and had it for $50, but they didn't get the PS4 version. Hasn't the X1 version been out for a while? Or was this the first time it's on disc?

Also a couple questions. So this is actually a 1:1 scale of the Milky Way correct?

And I am assuming you have the ability to travel at or near the speed of light?

Also is everything fictional, like you can't actually travel to known exoplanets like Proxima B right?

From what I've read, it's close to 1:1 scale but something something we don't have actual scales of the milky way so it's the best they could do with some procedural generation mixed in.

150,000 real stars. 4 billion procedurally generated.

There is most definitely a hyper drive that helps make it a speedier trip. Though I've read some ships are faster.

I've only touched on the tutorial which I recommend. I saw a poor user review based on the game not providing instructions. That gamer clearly didn't play the tutorial. It explains real important stuff.

Space looks so much more realistic than in NMS.

Maybe realism is my preference when it comes to space exploration.

This is only based on the tutorial. Haven't really dug in to comment on the wow factor of everything else.

For those that bought physical (anyone?) Does redeeming the horizons seasons pass all you need to do?

I didn't get a prompt to download anything and there is no indication I have horizons installed though the PS store says I purchased it so I know it recognized my code.

Thank you! I didn't want to start really playing until I knew for sure.

I can't even finish the tutorial lol. I got stuck on the advanced combat part because I really suck at flying. It took me a while to dock too. The game is indeed very overwhelming due to all of the different controls and such, but I imagine all that depth will be awesome once you get the hang of everything.

Yep, I'm getting it on Friday too from Amazon.

I am actually nervous about playing this. I hope I don't get frustrated and not want to play it.

                        Re: Elite: Dangerous

As others have said, there's a learning phase with an abundance of info to take in. Just spent about an hour on a test mission where I have to leave the space station and set forth on my destination. I'm still going to go back to it. Must of smacked my ship a dozen times when I first started. Piloting for me is taking some time to get use to. At one point when leaving space dock, my landing gear got caught in an extension piece of the station.

Love the system maps you can bring up. The left part of your screen shows how extensive this game is with the wealth of information. The tables change when you wish with additional information. I'm located in the Morgor sector. You can also notice the Orion Nebula close by.

This is so cool that it has real stars and constellations. And the Orion nebula? That is awesome.

I would have to say the Orion Nebula is my third favorite Nebula behind the Crab, and Eagle. lol Half joking.

It looks immense. YouTube has some great walkthrough videos. It will take some time, but once I get it all internalized and comfortable piloting my ship it is on like Donkey Kong.

Look for videos from ObsidianAnt. Dude is one of the world's leading Elite: Dangerous players and authorities, posting around 700 YouTube videos on various aspects of the game.

His tutorial and walkthrough videos are superb. Plus his voice is smooth as satin, with a cool English accent, to boot!
