Most of the main missions aren’t very interesting or fun to play, the story is predictable and sometimes flat out dumb, and game controls and menus stink (even after you become accustomed to them).

I’m going to see it through to the end, but I can’t wait for it to finally be over and done with.
I fully respect your opinion but I'm pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum on pretty much all regards. But again, I say this as someone who's been a huge fan of the series for years and years.

I was reeled in from the moment I found myself in the midst of a blizzard, trouncing about in foot-deep snow and it's all been epic ever since. I'd say the toughest moment came really early when I was briefly overwhelmed for a day trying to figure out how manage all the new things I was expected to do. But now it's all pretty much second nature.

I also love the deliberate nature of everything. The story really heated up for me around Chapters 5 and 6, to the point where I just wanted to play the next mission to see what would happen next, but prior to that, I'd struck a pretty great mix between advancing the storyline and just living my life out there and handling whatever I encountered. Sometimes it was canoeing down some rapids, sometimes it was a day of fishing, and sometimes it was just pure exploration, with Arthur's camera at the ready.

Regarding the story, on account of it being a prequel, I reckon a lot of us experienced a sense of predictability, but for being a video game - and a Rockstar video game, no less - I found the storyline riveting and enthralling, relatively speaking. It's not Citizen Kane, but I was fully invested in my character and those around him by the end. But, again, as a huge John Marston fan, I admit it wasn't going to take much to make me happy.

I admit I also probably would have never considered any controls issues if I didn't read people complaining about them on the internet. Upon consideration, it's not terribly difficult to imagine a smoother system in multiple regards, but I also never really had the controls negatively affect my experience. Sometimes the cover system wonked a little, but it never ruined anything, for one example.

Perhaps our differences are best quantified by the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed even the "boring" missions. One of my favorite moments in GTA V was the time I got to mop the floors of the FBI office and there were some moments like that in RDR 2 I enjoyed just as well.

TL;DR - Different stroke for different folks

I may have to put the game on hold for awhile until they patch this. It’s really starting to cause me problems. Nothing like being in a gunfight and realizing that the gun you MADE SURE TO GRAB before you got off the horse is no longer in your weapons wheel. Was this introduced when they patched in the online stuff, because I don’t remember it being an issue before that.

So I am not experiencing this bug. Odd.

I got into a massive gun fight as I stumbled upon a huge O’Drisscol hideout (I will not say where so I don’t spoil anything) while on a Cougar hunting trip.

I took my Lancaster Repeater rifle and my Rare shotgun off my horse.

Never disappeared from my weapon wheel.

I literally equipped my repeater, got down off my horse...and watched the thing disappear from my hands and reappear in the holster on the horse like a damn magic trick. I googled it and lots of people are having the problem. Just hope it gets fixed soon and they haven't just moved on to online stuff, already.

Isn’t the fix just waiting until you get off your horse to equip it?

That’s what I do. I can always get by with my dual pistols if I need anything spur of the moment on an ambush or anything so while it’s annoying it doesn’t really impact me negatively too much.

I've had it in my weapon wheel, walked to a certain spot to shoot an animal, go to pull out the gun and it's no longer in the wheel. They're just randomly disappearing no matter how you do it.

Well, it will when you need a certain weapon to get a clean kill for a perfect pelt and it's not there. By the time you run and get it from your horse, the animal is usually gone.

What a strange bug. Never experienced it on or offline. Only time my guns change is when a mission forces it.

I've also always picked my guns out once I'm off my house so that may be why I haven't ever seen it.

I lke the online because i can make my wife as my main player character, but man, there's nothing yet outside of the story missions. I'm good though it took a minute for me to be a multi-millionaire kingpin in GTA Online, i expect the similar output here.

I will say its hilarious when someone runs up on me and i headshot them before they can do their stupid lassos or whatever.

If they ever do lasso you just equip your knife before they reach you to hogtie you. You'll cut through their rope and it is much quicker than trying to tap the button to loosen the rope to escape.
