Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
So I saw a Virginia opossum lying on the ground, and when I approached it, the game prompted for me to pick up or skin it. Once I held Square to initiate a pickup, it shot right up, hissed and scurried away.
Turns out it was playing possum.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Lol, I love when they do that. my first encounter with a possum went the same way. Now sometimes I approach them just to watch them roll over and play dead and just sit there seeing how long they can keep it up. It's almost cartoon-like the way they roll over.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Spoiler
I went around exploring New Austin/Blackwater/Tall Trees and had more fun around those areas than I did the rest of the map outside of Saint Denis. Wish they would’ve included some of the main story over there.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
SpoilerI was sort of surprised that area wasn't used more. I figured the Epilogue would run me all the way out west at some point, or at least out to Gaptooth Ridge.
Then again, maybe that was the game's way of keeping the area relatively foreign to John (via storyline, anyway) so that when he arrives in 1911 (RDR 1), he still has a sense of discovery.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I know that it is a stretch, but I think the theory holds a little water.
With the lack of content on the old part of the map, how cool would it be to get a "re-master" of the first Red Dead as Paid DLC or expansion?
It would be amazing if after the Epilogues finished and free roam opened that on a random trip to Saint Denis John was picked up by the Pinkertons, they get on the boat to Black Water and then the first game started with him getting on the Train to New Austin.
Like I said I know it a stretch and unlikely but still a neat idea I have been mulling over.Last edited by Bullit; 12-16-2018, 04:21 PM.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
SpoilerI was just talking to Shiz about this today. The story does a poor job of using the map, in general. For as big as the map is, 90% of the story is in or around the same 3 cities.NFL - Vikings

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I can only imagine this game with ray tracing. Hell I can't wait to play in the snow areas on PC. IMO consoles still don't do snow and other weather effects as good as a high end PC. Heck even the grass on consoles don't look as good as the grass on a PC. I can also imagine on PC we will get some fog in some of the areas as well.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I just got to Chapter 6 last night. Other than one major event Chapter 5 was extremely predictable and a drag. It took me like a month to get through it.
Now that I have and I'm into Chapter 6 the story seems to be picking up and becoming a little more entertaining. Something that has helped me is on missions I just go to Cinematic mode and listen to the dialogue opposed to sit and tap x about 1500 times between destinations. The lack of "cruise control" for my horse is annoying.
I finally decided to switch it up and spend good money on a horse I named "Roach." I put ole faithful up like a vintage/antique car that I'm afraid to wreck. I'll just take her out for a spin from time to time when the heat dies down.
I still don't care too much for all the side stuff. I have a pond in my front yard and I don't fish in it... absolutely no urge to row out in the middle of a video game lake and do it. Same for hunting.. I dodge deer in my car every single day and my dog constantly chases them around the yard.
I finally purchased a few repeating pistols with actual magazines (forgot what they are called) and it's nice to know how to pronounce Saint Denis now. I wish the combat was more fun. I catch myself just dead eyeing my way through every large engagement and there's not much of a challenge to it. If I don't do that then the clunky controls usually lead to a struggle.Last edited by AUChase; 12-18-2018, 10:12 AM.Comment
