    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

Been a while since I've been on the boards but had to jump in to talk a bit RDR2.

IMO, Red Dead is the first game that actually feels like a next-gen game.
This is easily my fav game of all time.
I actually bought an XB1X just for this title and I have

As dorky as this sounds, I kind of wish I had started a little blog or journal of all the cool things I've witnessed and done myself.

Recently, I heard a guy pleading for his life so I mosey on over to see what's going on.
It was those mouth-breathing O'Driscall's at it again!
They had some poor soul tied up and were robbing him. Not on my watch.
A quick red dead and I turned their faces and groins to pudding.
I untie the guy and as he's thanking me he walks right into the campfire killing himself, lol.
The fire actually spread from him, to a dead O'Driscall and then to a third O'Driscall.
    Awesome.

I've found so many hidden gems around the map. Seems like there's always something cool to discover. Like when I solved the case of a serial killer.
Or another time when I was given intel on a Home Robbery north of Van Horn.
Turns out that potential robbery turned into something even better.

I can't even tell you how many hours I've spent on the game (literally, I have no idea how to figure that out). But it's a lot and I have force myself to do missions. I just loving wandering the country side finding random occurrences, or robbing a bank or stage coach.

I love how there's that one town where even saying "hello" is an invitation to a brawl.

Best game ever. I've heard once you finish the game an entirely new and large part of the map unlocks. Can't wait to just do what I want and carve my own path.

This game will have maximum replay value. I have lost hours not even realizing it, just bumming around. I would have loved this game when I was younger and had a lot more free time.

Great job R*. Game of the year fo sho!

Yeah this post really captures what I love so much about this incredible game. It is for as well the very best open world game I have ever played and one of the GOAT video games in history.

Just a magnificent world to explore.

I think it's a great game now that I've come around on the weaknesses that prevented me from grooving with me on my initial attempt. The story has yet to engaged me, however, as I find Arthur Morgan a far less interesting character than John Marston.

The open world is great, but I think it's in-line with the other fantastic open world games of this gen (The Witcher, Horizon, Watch Dogs 2). I've mostly spent my time hunting and exploring the map. The story hasn't hit any urgent interest in me yet and the game overall can be clunky if one expects to rush through menus or into gameplay.

I don't think the story starts picking up until chapter 3 or 4.

My saved horse outfits keep changing randomly. Is this a known bug or something the game does on purpose for different missions?

I'm only about 48% through the story but think I want to go ahead and finish it. I am about half way between good and bad but think I will make a save at around 80% of story where I can go back and go full outlaw to possibly get another ending. Would that be a good point to save or earlier? Does the story move kinda fast around that point?

                    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I'm into Chapter 6 and I'm still not sure how this story will end.
I'm at the point where I want Arthur to just tell Dutch off. He's off the rails and all his schemes are nonsensical.

Silly question, but do the cutscenes and options adjust depending on your Good/Evil scale?

I've enjoyed the story thus far, but I wish they would have added a free-roam story mode.
You design your own character and then just do whatever you want, charting your own course.
NPC's, missions, challenges, will all unfold and react to your actions.
But maybe that's what will happen once the story has been completed and a new map unlocks?

I am on Chapter 6 and free roaming some more.

Out hunting Moose right now and just exploring.

                              I simply love doing this.

I have taken the Jerimiah Johnson route in terms of survival in the wilderness.

Funny I was way to the left on my honor meter before chapter 6.

                              But then things changed.......
