There are so many falsehoods in this I don’t even know where to start. I enjoy great games! GOW and Detroit Become Human fill the bill. I’m young enough and hip enough to know greatness. This game is an open world game where all people are talking about are horse testacles, horse poop, being able to eat and get fat and having to shave and crap. Wow! That sounds fun! Can I wipe my *** and do laundry too? That would really make it fun! Can you marry a wife that nags you while you do stuff? Maybe in a patch. I can only hope.

I prefer games with strong story elements and great combat (for action games). That puts the Witcher out since the combat was weak (yes I said it). I did try the first RDR game but mindless wandering of an open world while I clean up menu item fetch quests gets tiresome. I didn’t play the first game long. Really don’t have a lot of confidence that I am going to love the sequel either. Nobody has to get their panties in a bunch. I will likely give the game a try. I wasn’t a big GOW fan and ended up loving the 4th game. So anything is possible. Much like my brother Money99 having good taste. He currently lists hockey as his favourite sport. I rest my case. He currently loves doing grocery shopping and cleaning up the house so I can only assume he would love RDR2. If they add birds crapping on your clothes I can only wait for the inevitable text from my brother about “realism” and awesome “open worlds”.

Actually I think they should form competing gangs in RD2 Online and then we can all pick a side and have an OS Civil War.

All I know is RDR was a joy to play. The "Wondering around" was really part of the total joy for me..
I still remember the first time I was just roaming around and a storm rolled in. The sound was awesome.

I love a great story too but for me it doesn't need to be a streamline go there now.. type deal.

I like my free time in a game.. which does sound pretty weird.. lol

Waiting for the PC version but...

Read a Reddit comment the other day. Mentioned that the next gen consoles are supposed to get here in 2020, and then speculated that the PC version won't come out until those versions do. Makes too much sense. I was hoping for a much shorter turnaround than 2 years but that's too long of a wait. If there's no word 6 months after release, I'll probably end up caving.

Hunting & Fishing

Hunting and fishing are essential skills for survival in the wilderness, providing food, materials and a source of income. A huge variety of fish swim the many rivers, lakes and streams, and selecting the right bait or lure is key to a successful day’s haul. Tracking an animal takes focus and patience; move carefully and watch the wind direction or you will alert your prey. Choice of weapon and shot placement are also very important and will affect the quality of the meat and pelt, which in turn affects the price that traders will pay for them. Make sure to pick the right gauge of rifle for the size of animal that you’re hunting, or master the use of the bow for a quiet and clean kill.

After a successful hunt, you can either skin and butcher the animal on the spot or take it with you whole. Just try not to leave it too long or the scavengers will come looking. Skins, parts, meat and entire carcasses can all be loaded onto your horse to be sold to the butchers in town, taken back to camp for the stew pot, or crafted into clothing or other items. Nature amply provides and there is no reason to ever go cold or hungry.

Horses

There are 19 breeds of horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 from Appaloosas and Arabians to Shires to Mustangs, each of which handles differently with its own defined characteristics. Horses can be captured and broken out in the wild, purchased from stables or acquired by more underhanded means, of course.

Your horse is your constant companion, and you will rely on them just as heavily as on any of your fellow gang members so it is important to take good care of your animal. By keeping it groomed and well-fed, you will start to see improvements in stamina, performance and handling and it will become less skittish as the bond grows between you. With 59 different styles of coat, and a huge range of customizable tack, including saddles, horns, stirrups, spurs, you can create a horse that is truly your own, and develop a personal and unique relationship as you explore the world together.

My fav. RDR activity was hunting things like cougars and bears....needless to say I'm excited by that news ha.

@RDonlineNewsIf you add up every animal from Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Red Dead Redemption, and Grand Theft Auto V - it only comes to about 185 animals, and that's with repeats.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has around 200 unique species.

I love and welcome this level of detail. Sure, its cool to get into gunfights and stuff but for some reason, i think its neat that you have to worry about how much you eat etc.

Also, i always thought it was weird in games where your player would be in a blizzard or snowstorm and be completely shirtless. Pretty cool the RDR2 is taking all of this detail into consideration.

Have such a huge backlog that I know I'll never get through.. but this game will take priority..

I told myself I was done buying games for a while after spending 600 bucks on Spider-Man, but dammit the horse testicles are making it hard not to pull the trigger.

Well, PS4 Pro bundles and Collector's Editions aren't cheap.

And I'd pay double that for a Flash game of the same quality.

Game looks and sounds incredible. This is going to be such a time sink that I think a lot of us here will end up divorced.
