I'm still undecided. I never finished the first game.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
The first one was very good indeed.
One of the very few games that I finished 100%.
Absolutely loved all the hunting and survivalist missions.
I'd do them fanatically, got tired a bit and continued the story or took some wanted poster, then turned back to hunting again.
Ended up having all the top ranks. What a fantastic game this was, am very excited about the upcoming one.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I really hope that RDR2 has an epilogue as powerful as the one in RDR was. I was. It's a testament to how well done that game was how emotional I got over it.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Spoiler
I honestly thought John's wife and son were dead. I kind of had to laugh that after spending so many days (years?) tracking down his old gang and causing havoc in the west, his wife was alive and a nag.
I almost felt like they could have started playing "Love and Marriage" and ended the game with Marston sitting on a couch with his hand down his pants, lol.
I started reading the IGN hands-on review and I had to stop myself after the first few paragraphs.
This game sounds so friggin good that I want to go in fresh.
But it's hard. It really sounds like R* worked their butts off to make the world completely organic and give every decision or action real weight to how it affects the world around you.
I know someone (gamer tag rhymes with JudyRuly2) who has the game pre-ordered but has already decided the game will be trash and will be selling it.
I'm not sure what to do for this poor soul.
In his advanced age, he's clearly experiencing early signs of dementia.
He's getting to that age where he hates anything that the rest of the world likes.
The other day I saw him shaking his fist and yelling at a cloud. Then he came over and started spouting off about the wonders of oatmeal and warning me about the dangers of "The Diabetus!" - all while wearing a sweater when it was 95F outside.
I feel like I should coordinate an intervention of some kind, but I fear he's too far gone.
As I'm typing this, he's sucking down his 3rd glass of prune juice while taking in a Matlock marathon.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I usually don't buy much digital (Only digital is the freebies usually) but going that route here.
Game releases just after my surgery so I'd have to wait for wife to head out after work that day to pick it up...
not waiting.. lolJoshua:

I prefer games with strong story elements and great combat (for action games). That puts the Witcher out since the combat was weak (yes I said it). I did try the first RDR game but mindless wandering of an open world while I clean up menu item fetch quests gets tiresome. I didn’t play the first game long. Really don’t have a lot of confidence that I am going to love the sequel either. Nobody has to get their panties in a bunch. I will likely give the game a try. I wasn’t a big GOW fan and ended up loving the 4th game. So anything is possible. Much like my brother Money99 having good taste. He currently lists hockey as his favourite sport. I rest my case. He currently loves doing grocery shopping and cleaning up the house so I can only assume he would love RDR2. If they add birds crapping on your clothes I can only wait for the inevitable text from my brother about “realism” and awesome “open worlds”.Comment
