I stopped playing this shortly after I got it at launch, but have recently gotten back into it again. I had forgotten just how incredible this game is. I was a big fan of Bloodborne, but I dig this one even more because the Samurai aspect of Nioh has a greater appeal to me. I also prefer the mission structure as opposed to the entire world being connected.
I forget what my level is now, but I completed the first region of the game. I summoned help to deal with Hino-Enma. I think I could've gotten her eventually, but I felt so underpowered at that point. I took out Nue and Tachibana Muneshiga by myself, though. Good times.
Nue probably took me an hour because I kept getting hit with dumb ****, or running into a structure when he was dropping his lightning bolts.
Tachibana was fairly straightforward, but it was cool that I wasn't battling some huge monster in that one. We were just out there scrapping -- very cool stuff. I also liked how you are able to co-op with the NPC in that section and take out all those Yokai beforehand. It was a nice farm area.
Now that I've played for a while, I finally have a grasp on the crafting and things of that nature. The loot in this game is plentiful and I like that a lot. I had totally neglected the Agyo and Ungyo upgrades. I happened to look through the menus yesterday and saw that I had a ton of points to spend. That was very helpful.
I really didn't need another game to invest a lot of time in, especially since I'm still playing through the Witcher. This game is just too good not to keep playing, though. I'll have to grab the DLC, they've earned my money. Excellent game.
