I'm a big Star Wars fan and did enjoy the last Battlefront despite no single player and I won't be buying this unless they do away with micro transactions. Micro transactions is something I have zero interest in and from the feedback it sounds like it kills the game for people who won't want to pay extra.

If it makes you feel any better I have been playing the trial post-release and am not seeing the game being killed for me. I'm still middle-table fragging and not getting destroyed by people with all purple cards.

I get people wanting to take a stand against the micro-transaction thing I just wanted to state my peace that IMO ruining the game from someone who isn't investing besides the initial cost.

So basically EA has taken the oldest and most obscene business practice and the gaming public is pretty much going to blindly buy into it.

Here is how this business meeting probably went.

EA: Ok here is what we are going to do with BF2. We are going to add a very aggressive loot box and micro transaction system. Put high power hero's behind a grind and pay wall that is absolutely horrible. Then when everybody complains about it, instead of fixing anything we will reduce the cost of everything across the board. That way the public will feel we are listening. But in reality this is the level we wanted to put everything at anyway. We just knew people would complain and we would lower it anyway. This way we still actually make more money the way we intended but now it looks like we care about our customers. Now for the next two or three games we add all of it back to the higher levels, then everything is set as games as a service and they wont even see it happening. Then if the games get too bad or sell too poorly we will just disband the studios, quit making the games in that IP and just add all of this stuff into Madden and FIFA. We are EA you either gives us money or you don't play games.

Yah, I played 1 game last night and came in mid game. I finished in the top 10. I had zero cards active. Granted, I'm not sure how many opponents were using purple cards.

Yeah I've seen purple cards here and there. The nice thing is when you die it shows you the cards your killer had active, to at least give you an idea of what was at play.

Or maybe it's to make you want those cards and to go buy them. Either way it shows them to you.

I'm wondering if we can use vehicles in the ARCADE modes...I'm not seeing any vids of Arcade mode with any vehicle play.

I had no issues entering mine in.

SUCCESS! After a few hours, I figured, why not restart my PS4, so I just did, entered the code and presto! It TOOK! So now I officially have the Deluxe Edition. So if anybody's having problems with their code entry, try this.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I had one card on my character to improve thermal detenator's & had 20+kills with 14 assists in my last game on galactic assault. The loot crate issue hasn't dampened my fun. Sure I would prefer not to have it but it doesn't kill the game for me. I play for fun & to be immersed in the Star Wars universe. The game look's & sounds beautiful.

Couple of early thoughts:

My son and I played a bunch together today. It looks great and feels a bit tighter than the beta so far. The people running around with higher level abilities don't seem to throw off the balance too much thus far, so that's good, though that's on galactic assault. I'm not sure if that balance will be more thrown off in the smaller modes or if the head start snowballs over time.

Speaking of the smaller modes, anyone else noticing some serious balancing issue in Heroes vs Villains?

Every match I've played has been dominated by the dark side, seemingly without regard to skill (simple hack and slash appears to be about enough on the dark side).

For example, I suck and might only get 2-3 kills as Yoda (and die constantly), but will get MVP and like 20+ kills as Kylo or Maul (and a chunk of those are just rushing forward and hacking). Someone better might last longer or get some more kills, but they still seem to be no match for the dark side.

Now, it's obviously early and perhaps the light side powers require more skill...I've gotten a bit better with Rey and have seen some people hang in really well with her, for example (haven't run across Luke yet), but the rest seem to go down super easy. It just seems that at their core, the dark siders are stronger.

So if i read right is this supposed to be included with game? If so how do i redeem it?

As its 14.99 on psn store right now so is there a code 4 this or am i supposed to buy this separately? Thx

I am an offline guy. I was disappointed to hear the campaign was only 4 hours. I've even heard people have beat it in 3.5 hours. It's really really a bummer for an offline guy like me. They promise 5 to 7 on the previews. I hope it's that good I'll want to play it over and over. But star wars deserves a campaign that is like 15 to 20 hours long. For the money we spend on deluxue versions and VC and what not, we deserve it. The offline guys.

Well crap, I was only going to buy it for the campaign (which sounded like it could be great)...even a super short 15-20 hour campaign would've been fine. I'll wait for a massive price drop now before I even consider.
