Knocking on wood, I played this evening for about 3 hrs (Xbox 1X), I didn't have one problem, played smooth! Finally finished the Legionnaire Challenge.

Dude, I know you're loving this game but seriously, bricking a console is NOT a minor bug. And there's been reports of this possibly happening to Xbox One consoles as well. Again, NOT a minor bug. Clipping issues is a minor bug. Making your multi-hundred dollar console a paperweight is NOT a minor bug.

And by complete opposite, I mean an actual working functional playing game in which the issues are in fact minor. Just because you're not having serious issues doesn't mean that they don't exist for other people. EA has even admitted that something is causing PS4 consoles to be bricked. I get it. You're loving the game but when a game has serious issues by the majority of those who are playing the game, people need to acknowledge it because if you don't, we'll just keep getting the same problems with every release.

Dude, you’re talking about maybe a couple bricked consoles because of hard drive failures out of millions of consoles. It’s not a huge issue it’s just awful luck for a couple people. You’re just fake outraged over what you are reading online. You’re not even playing the game and exaggerating when you say “the game has serious issues by the majority of those playing it”.

I’m working on that now. Not sure how I want to go about it. Is it best to just keep using quick play?

Also read at least two accounts from support that no consoles are being actually bricked, they have to be properly reset.

Probably why outlets that think they are a legit source of info shouldn’t write articles based of things kids post on reddit. Gets them clicks though.

A more widespread problem would also be much more damning of Sony's certification process than it is of Anthem itself.

Good point. A “widespread” issue that is bricking consoles would never make it to the retail customer most likely.

EA had BioWare play catch-up with the MMO Old Republic and now with anthem (destiny).

They have one of the best single player RPG devs in history and also the Star Wars IP and this is what they have them do.

It’s just EA reacting to the market instead of what the devs are good with.

Also frostbite has to be one of the worst engines ever.

I’ve been playing for 30 hours and I’m still not finished with the single player/campaign aspect of this game and I rush through some of the dialogue. I don’t think it’s fair to just gloss over what BioWare has done here from a dialogue standpoint. It’s pretty in depth and they clearly put some effort into it.

The game reminds me of my basketball team, the Lakers. It has some issues but people want this game to fail so badly! Does it have issues, YES, and so have alot of other 1st time games! It took The Division about 6 months before it started to really shine, I think it was by the 4th Patch when the game really began to take off.

The hard drive failures is due to the game itself. Several hard drive failures connected to the same game means that it's the game that's causing the issue. I'm not outraged at all. Just very disappointed mainly because with no PvP in the game, it makes no sense as to why someone like me who would play the game solo is restricted and can't do so. Especially Strongholds which are said to be the best content in the game. So it's more about just being disappointed than anything else simply because Anthem was a day one buy despite the issues the game is having because it's easily up my alley but if I can't play solo and im restricted, then there's obviously no point for me to do so.

There is always content in games like this you can’t do solo. It is what it is and should be expected at this point.

Are you out on the division 2 also? The strongholds are just the equivalent of the raids. You won’t be able to do those solo either.

The Division 2 is day one because the Dark Zone is mostly PvP which I have no interest in so I can fully ignore it. As for the Strongholds, there's a difference. You can still attempt them solo in The Division 2. After watching their State of the Game video earlier, The Division 2 looks like a 200 hour game and that's only based on me playing as a solo lone wolf. Anyway, correct me if im wrong but from what I have read, you can't access the Strongholds in Anthem unless you have a team with you. Is that true? Or can you at least attempt them?

You are not going to be able to attempt the 8 person raids in division solo. You can’t attempt the strongholds in anthem solo.


My overall point here is that it’s not fair to go into a game in this genre and think you will be able to do absolutely everything solo. It’s just not going to happen. It doesn’t happen in destiny, division or anthem.

I did everything in Division 1 solo except for the Dark Zone at launch. Expecting pretty much the same in Division 2. Played the open beta and wasn't restricted at all. In Anthem with no PvP, the option to solo everything should be there. Even if you can't complete it solo, at least allow me to attempt it.

I hear you about people not giving the game a fair chance and wanting the game to fail but the problem with putting out games with known bugs and issues with the intention of fixing them as time goes by is that once the game is supposedly fixed after a few months is that most people have already moved on to other games at that point. Not to mention that many times companies patch a game only to cause another bug somewhere else. Game companies have become dependent on patching games instead of putting out a finished game. I would rather they delayed more games than put out unfinished products.
