Man I have figured out how to school Nergigante on just my third attempt I beat him without getting hit but a few times

The first time I kid you not my cat got the last hit on him.... Was the funniest thing

I just unlocked his Charge Blade and it’s a beast of a weapon. I’ll probably go ahead and make his armor

What level were you on when you took on that quest? I barely could beat the rolly polly guy, it took forever with my light bowgun. Wondering if I should farm some more monsters or something. I think my bowgun is as high as I can get until it drops down into the Nergigante tree.

Pretty sure everyone is the same level for that fight since it’s capped for the story missions. I think it’s level 13 for Nerg, your armor and weapon levels help a lot so definitely focus on that.

Got a decoration gem that gives the bow another charge level.. pretty awesome. Triple charged Dragon Piercers absolutely wreck stuff.

Pretty sure everyone is the same level for that fight since it’s capped for the story missions. I think it’s level 13 for Nerg, your armor and weapon levels help a lot so definitely focus on that.

Yeah. I think my armor just needs a little buffing. Think the game wants you to farm the monsters in the area, and build an armor set from them before going after Nerg.

Up to HR 54. These are the builds I've managed to make, although I forgot to upload my bow build which has been my go to (100+ hunts).

I try to mix it up depending on the monster to keep it fresh. I need to really work on building elemental sets for certain monsters now, but I'm more focused on obtaining good decorations from tempered elders.

And man, that HR 49 tempered Kirin was a serious challenge. Managed to beat it with my LBG by sleep bombing it at the start of the hunt then just strafing around drilling it in the face with rapid fire normal 2 shots.

Sleep bombing to start? Interesting. So you tranq'd it to get some big hits on it early on basically?

Yup. It takes about 4 or 5 sleep ammo shots with the LBG to put them to sleep. Then I just slap down two mega barrel bombs and all 3 of my wyvernblast mines by the monsters head and blow them up. It does a serious amount of damage to start the fight.

Welp. I think I’m done with this game. Diablos alone has killed any kind of fun I was having with it. I need one more of his fangs to make his Charge Blade and I’ve killed him 3 or 4 times and haven’t gotten one. Now, I can’t even beat him. I’ve failed 5 straight times. He hits like a truck and even with decent gear, he’s kicking the crap out of me. The monsters are only going to get harder, so it’s probably time to face facts and admit that I wasted $60. This game is just too much for me. 😞

Don’t give up, just sounds like you need more practice. Charge Blade is arguably the hardest weapon to master so keep pushing.

Try to find investigations for the Diablo, you usually can get some of the rarer rewards easier. Also, no shame in doing some multiplayer and having other people help you.

Once you get the hang of the game it’s so rewarding and one of the games that truly makes you feel like a boss.

Don’t give up, just sounds like you need more practice. Charge Blade is arguably the hardest weapon to master so keep pushing.

Try to find investigations for the Diablo, you usually can get some of the rarer rewards easier. Also, no shame in doing some multiplayer and having other people help you.

Once you get the hang of the game it’s so rewarding and one of the games that truly makes you feel like a boss.

The one that was available to me was a 2 faint fail. I have a 3 faint fail, now, so I may be able to pull that off. The last fight I had with him, he had the skull over him, I used 2 large barrel bombs on him and then went to town with the Charge Blade. He shook it off like he was the damn Undertaker and proceeded to stomp me into the ground. Lol! I guess that was my breaking point. I may actually try my Insect Glaive on him, because that may help with avoiding his charges. I always get stunned and then he immediately goes underground and pops up to destroy me. I’ve stacked the stun protection that I have up to 60% but it doesn’t feel like it helps much. I’ve had fun with the game, it’s just starting to get really frustrating.
