This is one of the greatest games I’ve played in a long time, it’s completely consumed me lately.

Been using the bow and I love it, highly recommend checking it out.

Can anyone provide some pointers on how to kill a Janarth? I'm really early level (3) and having a hard time taking him down, he's got an iron chin. I got really close yesterday but ended up dying 3 times.

Are you talking about Anjanath? Big red looking T-Rex guy?

He’s the first “wall” of this game for players, many have had trouble with him, I did too.

Best advice I can give is to go for his tail/leg area first. You can break his tail which gets him pretty weak.

Bring a water weapon because he’s weak to it, if you have any armor that is fire resistant that is great too.

Stay away from him when he gets the red marker on his icon, he is enraged and goes ape, you can still attack but it’s best to hit and run.

Bring lots of potions and healing items obviously. Flash pods are great to stun him for a few seconds.

Honestly, take the first 5 minutes of the battle and just dance around him, learn his movements and attack patterns.

Shock traps are good and try to lure him into some of the environmental traps, the vine traps are pretty easy to get him in.

If all else fails, use your SOS or join a group in matchmaking and do it with some other people, this game is great like that. I spent 3 hours just joining SOS hunts and helping people with random stuff.

He's wild on HR mode. Can 2 hit you if your armor is bad. I took him down with a light bow gun. Found that creating space on him really helps a lot. His charge move in HR is unforgiving.

Yeah I owned him on HR earlier, once you learn his movements he’s not bad.

I absolutely hated this game's beta. Had no intention of playing it. Saw my friend playing it and asked if I could download it off him and give it a fair shot. With that said, I'm HR15 and only need to skill the last boss for the story. Loving the game and glad I gave it another shot. Bow is really fun.

Yeah the beta was a pretty poor example of this game. I hated it and almost didnt get it. Glad I did. HR 30 something and still love the game.

Man I have figured out how to school Nergigante on just my third attempt I beat him without getting hit but a few times

The first time I kid you not my cat got the last hit on him.... Was the funniest thing

I just unlocked his Charge Blade and it’s a beast of a weapon. I’ll probably go ahead and make his armor

Been reading up on what base weapon to start with. Training with the Charge Blade, but I think I may be over my head with that one from the get-go. What did you all start out with? Seems like Sword & Shield may be the more logical choice for complete noob like myself.

I’d recommend the hammer for starting out but I’m bias lol.... It’s easy and a blast to use

Just experiment man. It takes time to learn any of the weapons ..... Some are easier than others but they are all viable and you don’t have to stick to just one at any point

                        Happy hunting

The Charge Blade definitely has a learning curve, but trust me, if you stick with it and get it down, you’ll love it. That’s the way I was at first, and now, other than the Insect Glave for flying monsters, it’s all that I use. 👍🏻

Is it me or did everyone find the Teostra harder than Vaal Hazak and Xeno'jiiva.

I didn't die once against the latter two but Teostra always gave me trouble.

As others have said, just try them all honestly. The great thing about this game are all weapons are balanced really well and are all effective. You also can technically use whatever you want, whenever you want.

Personally I chose the Insect Glaive at first and really liked it, still do but I changed to Dual Blades and liked those as well, I occasionally use them but ended up settling on the Bow.

The Bow is a blast and I highly recommend it.
