Nice! This throws a wrench in my gaming plans! Wasn't expecting it already and kind of forgot about early access with Origin Premier.

I don't think it is playable. I've still got a countdown til I can launch it.

Restarted Origin and now it is playable. That was strange. Still had a countdown of 8 hours before restarting.

I despised the demo but that map trailer got me hyped again. I will be looking forward to impressions..

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

                    Re: Battlefield V

Played a couple of grand operations. Had a lot of fun. The pacing of the game is slightly slowed, nothing crazy, but it is enough to notice and I appreciate that change. The guns have some kick to them, but it is balanced by the quicker time to kill. I love both of those changes. I won't need to play hardcore to avoid the bullet sponge anymore and guns aren't lasers anymore either.

I do really enjoy the way your ammunition and health are done now. Really really love the focus on people playing their roles since ammo is short and health is more precious and doesn't regenerate to 100% on its own anymore.

Overall, I really liked it. Only have 2 hours of gameplay so I will keep playing it and let the newness wear off and see if I truly am going to be back to playing this series more regularly again.

What are your impressions on map design? What about grenade spam - it sounds like DICE tried to tone this down a lot from BF1 and even BF4?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

                        Re: Battlefield V

I liked the maps. I only played 2 of them, but they had good variety. The urban one in Rotterdam? was very similar to the urban map in BF1 that has all of the small bridges. VERY similar. Almost looked like a reskin.

The grenade spam was not really prevalent since you only get one and getting one resupplied back seems to take a crate and not just an ammo pouch.

Should start on the second Grand Operation I played. Might help to see it, might not.

If it doesn't start around the time of the second match, it is around the 42 minute mark.

Played Conquest for a couple hours on PC last night and really liked the map design. They have a much more pre-BF3 feel to them. Which is good IMO.

I never felt like I was EXTREMELY far away from a point at any given time. Even at the furthest cap zone, the maps as a whole felt symmetrical.

                                Battlefield V

The game looks amazing and plays super smoothly. Gunplay is fun, and felt balanced (time will tell really, not enough time to tell for sure). My personal opinion on the need for HC or 200% damage servers is still the same, though I expected that.

There's still something "hollow" feeling though, that I can't quite put my finger on. As fun and as good as the game feels while playing, there's an odd feeling that when the game ends it just ends. Like there's no climax...idk it's hard to explain.

Regardless it's a fun game and one that will definitely be in my rotation. It's WAY more vibrant and less gritty than BF1, takes away from the immersion IMO but certainly not an issue.

Customization seems cool, even if the menus are a little clunky. In the end there's only a few instances where you notice other players customization during a match, let alone your own.
