      Re: Battlefield V

There were SO many features missing from the alpha. I think there will be a lot of features missing from the beta as well. I just don't buy that it's due to being sandwiched between other AAA titles and rather that the game is REALLY behind schedule and due to the already bad publicity (via a marketing dept.), DICE feels a poor launch would just kill the game.

I'm sure that's just me but I think delaying the game versus asking the consumer who ALREADY paid $$ to wait is way a better avenue to take. Facing bad PR now but having a great launch outweighs bad PR when the game launches and pleading for people to come back or even buy it after bad reviews.

Any one playing the beta? I was squad leader earlier and got enough points for the air strike. I hit the l1 and r1 on ps4 to bring up the menu, pushed right stick up to select air strike...then
...I couldn't figure out how to select it or actually execute it.

I think is a little bugged. I used it once and it worked then the 2nd time it wouldn’t execute. Same thing with the supply drop one.

This game looks so fun, the beta at least. I'm liking the gunplay...the time to kill isn't BF1 spongy, not quite BF4 quick...right in the middle. Lack of grenade spam (AMEN!), fortifications can be useful...looks awesome so far.

After watching the latest trailer, am I the only one who's concerned that the "war stories" will be shorter than what they were in Battlefield 1?

I read about the war story timeline a few months back here

                        https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_one/comments/8jwvfy/battlefield v_war_stories_confirmed/

It does suggest that people like short timelines, I don't get why.

I heard they changed the spotting system from bf1 making it so people are automatically marked when looking at them (hated this idea). Can anyone confirm if that's the case in the demo?

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I can’t figure out spotting. Sometimes enemies show up as red dots on my radar. If I hit R1 on an enemy nothing happens. If I hit it on a random spot or some where near an enemy a waypoint is placed on my screen and he shouts something like “danger in that area”.

I'm enjoying the beta on the PS4, but find there is a lot of "downtime" where I'll just be hanging around with no sign of enemies.
