Re: Battlefield V
The game is absolutely stunning visually...it looks fantastic. I don't think there is another shooter on the market that looks better.
Fortifications does look a bit gimmicky? We won't really know until we play the game an extended amount of time.
Time to kill is really fast and it's a bit disconcerting. Im not sure if its due to low health (attrition mecganic) but having zero time to react can be frustrating quick. BF4 had it perfect, I hope it's not as bad as I feel it could be.
Speaking of attrition, it didn't seem as much of a struggle as I thought it'd be when watching gameplay. Its evident the user was mindful of the next scenario however which is good. That'll definitely show skill gap.
The gameplay does have a true sandbox feel like old BF titles. Being able to completely annihilate a building is so cool...I love how destructive the maps seem, so perhaps fortifications is DICE's way to even out map destruction and allow cover? If so, that won't be as gimmicky and could be a good offensive stategy/counter-attack type scenario.
I don't like the plane/parachute option if there is no limit to where the user can fly to. That is a back-flanker lover paradise and would be too annoying...constantly having to watch your back or clear enemies who parachuted behind you will get old quick.
I'm excited how fun this game could be. As beautiful and fun the game looks, it's the gun mechanics and core gameplay that provides replay ability...I hope DICE focused on this correctly.

Re: Battlefield V
It's really sad how the information for this game is being revealed. If you watch the press conferences you learn almost nothing about the game and walk away feeling like it's going to be really, really casual. They hit on Fortifications and Battle Royale specifically at the reveal and then EA Play.
The really good stuff is being put out via content creators like JackFrags and ole LevelCap and almost all of it is good stuff that actually makes you feel like they are listening to the community. Some of the changes were big ticket items on Reddit.
I went from being a little pessimistic and skeptical to thinking this game is going to be really good.Comment

There is a scene in this video at 6:55, he shoots an RPG at a house, the destruction is nice, but that wasn't the impressive part, the snow slides and shifts off the building in such a realistic and awesome looking fashion. The visuals are truly top notch, from textures to animations.
Aside from the stunning visuals the gun play really looks skillful and challenging. The TTK is a little longer than I'd like, but weapon handling will take skill, and the recoil is well done in my opinion.
So far the content creators have sealed a purchase from me.

This guy has some nasty gun play to gawk at!

Re: Battlefield V
I got in the alpha and ive been playing all day. Running feels slower compared to bf1 and I like it. Helps with the pacing. I just don't like that the guns are not faction specific. So you will see Germans carrying Bren machine guns. Women on the battlefield doesn't bother me at all but if the guns are not faction specific then it irks me. Lol might as well give tiger tanks to the allies as well...oh well.
Got into a panzer 4 a few times can't really comment much since I got blown up after driving a few yards. Spotting is done like the rising storm series where you will mark where you saw the enemy last. Squad play is a must. Assault class eats up the ammo rather quickly so you need to stay close to machinegunner. There are ammo depots around the flags for resupply. Even though everyone on your team can now resurrect you they still ignore you. Old habits I suppose...
Stukas flying overhead has that sound they make when they strafe. The sound design as always from dice is top notch. The bullet whiz sound is down right intimidating.
Overall it feels a bit more arcadey to me. The bullet drop is not as exaggerated.....havent tried sniper class since I hate playing it. I will try it out later to see how the bullet drop really is. I'm enjoying it and it's definitely a buy for me.

Re: Battlefield V
I'd like you to expand more on this?
I think the graphics look good (except for the snow effect, tone it down DICE!). I like the attrition mechanic and the fortifications mechanic doesn't seem as gimmicky as I thought...it can be used very tactifully.
I like the gunplay I've seen. I LOVE that the 3D spotting is near gone. It slows the game down a bit but it makes the user search the map more. I love how squads and working together is much more incentivized.
The only concern with the game I have thus far is the lack of ammo at spawn, that seems like it's going to get old quick and with the blueberry randoms usually having ZERO attention of what's around them, I feel like I'm constantly going to run out of ammo.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: Battlefield V
I've been playing plenty of Rising Storm Vietnam before getting into the alpha. Jumping from a realistic game to BFV it would feel arcadey to you as well lol other than that this is battlefield game all the way.
The ammo thing I think is an issue with the assault class. I've been playing as medic and support mostly so I just spam out ammo and reviving mostly. But yeah...the assault class burns through ammo rather quickly. I never liked snipers the less ammo they get the better. I'm still getting one shotted by those bums and I thought DICE says that they are no longer able to do that.
Teammates are dumb as ever and just go for kills. I had a whole team just run past me as I'm bleeding out. Sigh....maybe bump up the points when reviving? Give players an incentive....Last edited by Goffs; 07-01-2018, 07:06 AM.Comment
