All I can say is Battlefield 6 better be the next step forward from Battlefield 4 or I won't be buying these games anymore. It blows my mind that a company can have such a great game ( BF4) and then go backwards for the next 3 installments.

They've actually been going backwards since Bad Company 2. BF3 was worse than BC2. BF4 was even worse. BF1 was a travesty. BFV is... better than 1, but still a bad game when compared to BC2. I have little hope that if rumors are true about Bad Company 3 being in the works that it will be as good as BC2. Dice has just lost their touch and the series is nothing like what it used to be.

Wonder what happened to the Combined Arms updates and the new map Mercury? According to road map they should have been released in April and May respectively.

I bugged a few Dice Community people on Twitter and got a response and it seems like no one was even aware of the bug I've been talking about. I don't see how your job is Battlefield and you play it, but haven't noticed it yet.

This is part of my complaint with game changer/dice friends/whatever programs that are out there. Most of the requirements for these things now seem to revolve around social media presence as a streamer or content creator and your number of followers more than what you can actually contribute to the game to make it better. I'm sure the theory is that if you have thousands of followers then you're more likely to catch feedback from a wider audience that can help and it gives the company outlets to reach their fans, but this is a perfect example of it not working.

What's happening is the round timer is malfunctioning. A round that lasts somewhere around 25-30 minutes could register as a 1 minute round or it could register as a round that lasts 1 hour. That's why you can have a 20k point round and have a SPM of 4000+ or have the same around and see a SPM of 250. I know stats aren't everything, but this is a big one for me. It's how I evaluate how I'm doing and if I'm getting better at the game or worse.

Anyways.. sorry to be in here complaining again. I'm not losing sleep about this because there are other games out there and I am glad someone actually responded to me about it, but I hate that it ever had to come to me being that guy on social media. I don't want to be out here bugging developers and community mangers about something like this, especially 6 months post launch.

I don't think you're in the minority.

The gun play is good, but it's bugged. There are cases of instant death, bullets not registering, etc. The "net code" for this game has just been rough compared to Battlefield 1. They just do too many stupid things that distract from the gun mechanics which are pretty good. I could play from Japan on US West servers and my ping never went higher than 150. I can't even play on US West servers from Alabama now in BFV without a ping of 90-120.

This new Boys rifle being a 1-shot kill has just encouraged people to lay prone and camp even harder than they were before. It's probably realistic that it would kill you with one shot, but you have to lay prone to ADS and thus everyone and their mother is using it and laying prone somewhere waiting for you to round the corner to one shot you or they are laying 300 meters away. They just developed this game to punish people who actually move from objective to objective. I'm still trying to figure out why you can deploy a bipod while laying on your back. You can't even get a good angle on someone laying prone bipoded because of the turning radius of someone using a LMG/MMG and bipod.

I've been playing a few rounds after taking some time off. Last night I had about 17 kills and 10,000 points because I joined in really late and my SPM was over 9000 and no one at Dice has publicly acknowledged it's broken. Loaded into Mercury and was on a team of 6 people while the opposing team had 38 people on it (how is that even possible?).

Lol at another Metro. I guess that just shows you how much Battlefield and its demographic has changed over the years. It's the leat Battlefield-esque mape out there, but it also one of the most popular maps anymore with the current crowd.


If the pacific maps are as pretty and fun as the Greece map then that will be nice. That map is loads of fun, imo.

I watched the Jackfrags video about it. There's definitely more freedom of movement and flanking routes than what Metro provided, but the same guy that created Metro did this map. At the time I loved Metro, but looking back it was a pretty linear and awful map where most of the time it was a fight over the center or someone was getting spawn trapped.

I think what the reveal trailer doesn't cover well is all of the maps coming aren't full blown conquest maps. Some of them are for the new "competitive mode" that DICE is working on (how many times have we tried this.. like Incursions in BF1) and one of them is a straight rip from the War Stories Campaign. It isn't even a new map that they designed.

They just seem to struggle to maintain the balance between long lines of sight and close quarters. I'm probably part of what you would perceive to be the problem because I love Devastation and Rotterdam in BFV, but they also provide plenty of ways to navigate the map.

We had so much more actual content at this point in BF1's life cycle.

Its a real shame, but I just don't see this game doing anything to bring me back. I'll continue keeping tabs on it, but this is so far of my radar for FPS games and it really pains me to say that

I have been a huge fan and supporter of this series for so long, even as it's slowly gone away from it's roots. But now I just feel like it's too far gone for me...

Greg, that's how I've felt. I come back and play here and there, but never long. I've played the game the last 3 days. I've had fun. I probably won't be playing it 2 weeks from now.

And this is why I will always love Battlefield.. Even though I cannot shoot for crap, I still finished top 10 just because I play objectives.

One level 50 guy went 12-2 and still finished two below my 4-9 performance lol. Nice to feel needed compared to TDM.

Outpost is a fun game mode. I love building in this game. Just had a 15,000 point game where I went 4-3. Just ran around, built stuff, healed people, revives others.
