It is a remaster and not a remake but I don't feel the need to pay $60 for this when they could have done so much more.

I guess make it resemble that of GTA V level fidelity rather than giving it the ol school feel.

Is that a realistic expectation for a remaster of 3 games that are 20, 19, and 17 years old? I honestly don't think so.

$60 and feels like a stall tactic cash grab while we wait for GTA6. After all it's only been 8 years now. They have a Liberty City available on the PS3 in the form of GTA4. Could have used that. Player models don't look so good to me. Personal opinion I guess. I can play all 3 on my still running P2. Rethink when it goes on sale.

                No something closer to GTA4.

                  Re: GTA Trilogy

I can see it from both sides. I'm not a fan of $60 for a Trilogy of games that are 17-20 years old, especially when it isn't a remake. But at the same time, you're getting 50+ hours combined on all 3 if you did side missions and stuff. I would have been happy with $40, and okay with $50. The same thing some would say about Liberty City in GTA 4 could be said about Los Santos in GTA V on the PS3. Even then, it still would approach remake territory. I can understand why some might not like maintaining the original artstyle, where some might feel they are playing a modded game. But, this did exceed my expectations visually.

For me, it's all about how gameplay looks and feels. It's one thing if it maintains its original artstyle, I don't want it to maintain its original gameplay feel. I'm on the fence. I don't mind the $60 because at least it's 3 games and I don't have the time to beat all three in a short time, so I can stretch it out enough to make it worth the $60. It's all about gameplay. I don't want it feeling like I'm playing a old game with modded graphics

Modded graphics is pushing the definition of modded graphics. I have seen mods of all of these games on YouTube granted PC but you can't tell me these guys have resources that Rockstar doesn't posses. Yes I know Rockstar used a different studio for these games here but this is just sheer laziness on their part. Go check out mods of these games on YT. Rockstar should be ashamed.

I have similar thoughts to ill. You're not going to see them use GTA IV LC for GTA III. They may as well remake the game at that point. They would have to make so many changes it would be a brand new game. That's an extremely unrealistic expectation for a remaster.

It's also $60 for 3 games. VC and San Andreas still have more content in them than many AAA games that come out these days do. $60 for 3 games that look to be heavily remastered is a fair deal.

Anyone acting like this is a quick cash grab likely had unrealistic expectations. Your casual mention of LC from IV being there to use makes me feel you are very naive about the game making process, no offense.

                            Re: GTA Trilogy

I do agree that with the resources they have with the many studios, finances(just the money made off GTA Online alone lol), and available tech they should be able to put a high quality game. That being said, I hope this, GTA "Enhanced and Expanded" and GTA Online isn't what's supposed to hold us over until GTA 6. They have the assets and resources to do a separate project that isn't GTA or RD related.

When it comes to single player AAA focused adventure games, you're not getting too many games nowadays that gives you over 8-12 hours of single player content. That's why even though I'm an offline gamer, I'm very choosy on which games I buy. Each GTA game gives you that alone.

Part of me wants to wait for a sale, but it seems like you'll be better off waiting for the Xbox 1 and PS4 versions to go on sale to get the game. With the next gen versions being digital, it's highly unlikely you'll see the game go on sale on the Store within the first several months. You're better off getting the last gen versions and rely on the Next Gen upgrade. Maybe those will go on sale "sooner" than the next gen digital version

                              Re: GTA Trilogy

For me losing the "old school artstyle" would be a complete deal breaker. It is what separates the "original" trilogy from what came after. When I first played GTA IV I was ecstatic that they addressed like 8 of the 10 issues/problems I had with SA, but the change from basically an arcade feel to a more "grounded" look and play took time to get used to and it left me a bit "cold". I felt some sadness, as in "the times are a changin" kind of mood.

But for example, they could add the Liberty City Stories as part of the $60 deal (come on Rockstar, help me out a little bit).

This is a difference between those that are looking forward to replay these games (some might say even desperate) and those of us that are like, ok, why should I spend $60 on this when I could literally turn on my Xbox 360 (which is still plugged in, I don't have to take it out from a cardboard box or anything ), reach 5 feet to my right, pick any of the originals and replay them. I'm the customer, what are you going to do for me?

My expectations were a graphic upgrade on a par with GTA4. From the trailer it is obvious they worked on lighting but not player models. Can't really pass any judgement on it until it comes out though. My point was they have plenty of money they could have done better with the player models and to suggest they wanted to keep the same feel as the originals give them a pass.
