    Re: GTA Trilogy

I mean these games are all over 15 years old. Wait 6 more months for a PSN Sale and it will be $20.

Try watching the trailer in something above 240p. If you're saying it's obvious they didn't touch the player models then I can't take you serious. The player models have seen significant change. Some for the better, some(Misty) for the worse.

I don't think this is 240p. You can take my opinion or leave it but if you think the player models look good then I can't take you serious. Not trying to be a prik.

I haven't once said the player models look good. What I said was you're wrong in saying they didn't touch the player models. They clearly have updated them.

You're moving the goalposts and trying to put words in my mouth now.

Could have used that. Player models don't look so good to me. Personal opinion I guess. I can play all 3 on my still running P2. Rethink when it goes on sale.
They can't use GTA IV's Liberty City for GTAIII because then they would have to rewrite the entire story. I'm a big GTA fan and this would mess up the lore completely.

The GTA III map works well with GTA III's story putting it in IV wouldn't work. Where's the car crusher? Luigi's sex club? St Marks Bistro? Joey's Garage? Salvatore's Mansion? GTA III works well in Portland, Staunton Island, and Shoreside Vale. Trying to make it work in Broker, Dukes, Bohan, Algonquin, and Alderney would be a mess.

Didn't mean to put words in your mouth. So they touched the player models I agree but some of them look horrible.

Been a long time since I played GTA3. Does the map look accurate? If a modder can do this I think Rockstar can.

                    Re: GTA Trilogy

Again, I don't think it was whether or not they could, but rather whether or not they decided to. I think they decided to maintain the feel of the original trilogy more. Whether or not you agree about wanting that is what is going to separate those who appreciate the appearance from those who don't.

You can argue all you want about whether they're lazy, incompetent, unresourceful, whatever... but what they say goes in my book here. They say that was their intent? That's what I'll go with.

And in thinking about it, I will get more feels playing a souped up version of III/VC/SA that's not a IV/V lookalike. That's a personal thing for me. Maybe if their version of GTA VI somehow morphs all of LC/VC/SA into one in expanded form (meaning a bigger SF/LV/VC with the current LS/LC), then I'll be onboard with the visual upgrade that accompanies it. Until then, outside of mods I'm not necessarily looking for the high-end visuals for the Definitive Edition.

                    That does look good, though.

Again, this isn't a mod where they put GTA III into the IV Liberty City and have all of the missions and whatnot in it. This is literally a few downloaded player models m, a couple of downloaded cars, and then a lot of video editing to make it appear as if they actually were playing a mission from GTA II.

In reality what happened was the guy just drove around in free roam and set a couple of things up in the Rockstar Editor to make a short video.

Regarding our other post, yes, some player models look bad updated in the trailers. Others look better. We hopefully will see more footage before release and it won't be old footage.

That said, I understand if one doesn't like the art style they took for this remaster. It doesn't really bother me, but I could see how others do dislike it. However, it is clear that they've made some significant changes graphically and that compared to your average remaster they appear to have done some real work here.

Given how old these games are, some of the scenes in the trailer were very impressive with just how updated they made the game look.

I think what drags me down on these games is thinking about what it's going to feel like driving around these cities with these graphics. The set pieces we've seen in trailers are improved, but even with low expectations it's just not for me. It's like a Toejam and Earl remaster of GTA, with how some of these characters look.

I'll give San Andreas a shot at launch on Game Pass and give the game itself an opportunity to change my mind.

If I didn't know any better I'd think it was meant to be. My dentist got back to me and the earliest they can see me is Nov 11th. Looks like I'll be leaving work early and can be a kid again on release day.

I’m guessing we won’t get any more news about this until next week like a few days before release.

I just wanna know what songs are going to in and which ones aren’t. That’s probably the most important thing to me as the graphics don’t mean much to me considering we’re talking about 15-20 year old game from the PS2 so my expectations were always going to be low in that regard anyway.

Price point doesn’t really bother me because I already pay $60 for FIFA every year and that ain’t nothing but a damn roster update every year, just like Madden and 2K are since it looks and plays the same every year.

Being that it is now a week out from release, I don't really care for how this was handled pre-release. Feels like they were saying "this is a remaster, you should know what is being changed". Feels like we got more from leaks, than the single reveal. If we don't see anything the next 2 days, then won't likely hear anything until the reviews a couple days prior to launch.
