Re: GTA Trilogy
Beat III, started VC and got a few hours in. I've still only encountered 1 bug to this point and it was in III when doing one of the payphone missions.
I have downloaded a few mods for Vice City. One improves Rosenberg's model. Another just improves the LOD quality so distant buildings aren't ugly. The last adds the classic radio station symbols in color to the radio wheel.
Still having a blast, especially now that I'm in Vice City. I can see how a kid today would play this and think it looks meh and plays meh since it is the classic gameplay with some lipstick. For someone like me who knew what the gameplay was like, and still enjoys it to this day, seeing Vice City with a fresh coat of paint and a great lighting system is something else.
It's like nostalgia amplified.

Re: GTA Trilogy
I'm a huge fan of GTA, but I can't bring myself to buy this for the current price. I need the price to be cut down to $15 or lower. To me this was a pretty lazy & disappointing project from Rockstar. With the resources they have, they could have really took the time to wow us. Instead they've become a greedy corporation that just wants to pluck as much money away from the fan base as possible with little to no effort. I feel they know their product is a joke which is why they've been going after the modders that actually put in work to wow us with their versions of what the game should look like.Thee I Love

Good interview with one of the founders of Rockstar, Jamie King. He left in 2006 but played a big role in the early 2000s.Comment

Re: GTA Trilogy
i'm on the fence with this game. i'm 45 and played the originals, so i'm not judging it by modern standards.
but that one girl's face in the diner looks ridiculous lol.
i would only buy this on Switch for the portability.Comment

I think I mentioned earlier but I'm planning on waiting until Christmas to pick this one up so I become more and more encouraged with each update. These patch notes are substantial.
Here's the full patch notes for update 1.03: https://support.rockstargames.com/ar...-S-Xbox-One-PC
On one hand, I'm really glad to see this game getting touched up like it is. On the other hand, I still can't help but imagine what a mess this must be for a number of employees involved in this project. I'm picturing members of a development team who probably tried to tell anyone who'd listen that the game wasn't ready for its listed release. Then, depending upon who's tackling these patches, I imagine there's probably some bitter folks out there cleaning this game up posthaste, either fixing piles and piles of someone else's preventable mistakes or cleaning up their own mistakes from being rushed.Comment

Some very good updates since.Comment

Re: GTA Trilogy
Seeing some videos showing that performance got worse, at least on PS4. That may be how it's going to work: a patch to fix bugs/graphics/features, followed by a patch to fix performance. We'll see how it goes, and will get it probably sometimes in December.
I was hoping to play these for a few months until SR is released, now I have moch more time than that. I love exploring, observing, testing the AI, immersion is key. I don't need the best story. GTA 4 is still the gold standard for this series, in my opinion. If that remaster actually happens, I will get it for sure if there will be a PS4 version. My Specs:

CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display

Re: GTA Trilogy
Playing on PS4 and I'm not so sure they fixed the rain. GTA3. While the game doesn't crash anymore it ran better out of the gate. More pop in the car seems to lurch forward while driving.Comment

Re: GTA Trilogy
I just finished San Andreas on the PS4 Pro and there is a weird pause/skip every so often. It actually made the last mission harder than it needed to be.
