Not great, that doesn't jibe with the artstyle of the original trilogy.

One issue is that some dummies spread before release nonsense like the trilogy was going to have GTA V physics and made themselves and others believe it, even though it was never mentioned by R*.

Anyway, looks like the GTA 4 remaster is real. I personally only need it on the PS4, they can leave it as is and I'd pay $19.99 for it. But it will probably become an almost-GTA-V kind of remaster. We'll see...

They gotta do something with the driving cam. It makes the game unplayable for me.

I finished GTA 3 and it was a fun little trip down memory lane. That 8 Ball boat mission was still hard as hell but the weapon cheat and rocket launcher made it a breeze. All in all I enjoyed it. There was some jank but it's funny how I got frustrated at the same points in the remaster as I did in the original... and I resorted to the same cheat tactics. Lol. I really just view these games as an old house with a fresh coat of paint. I'll jump on Vice City next.

I'd agree if it wasn't for the most part a mobile remaster upscaled for other platforms. Imo that's largely why we got the style that we did.

If there's any game where cheating should be encouraged it's GTA.

I laughed at myself during one of the early missions in GTA 3. There's a mission where you're in Triad territory and the dude takes off running in one of two directions. Either way, he goes, there's a car waiting for him.

I screwed up two attempts, so I moved the cars at both entrances before trying it again. Seeing him run into the street with nowhere to go was hilarious to me.

I'm having fun, it sucks that so many are having issues.

That’s your opinion. And in many ways the definitive edition looks worse than the original.

I don't even think that is cheating. Doing stuff like that and having the liberty to complete missions however you saw fit is what made the series great. It's what made the original trilogy so fun. In IV, V, and RRD2 Rockstar has made the games way too linear and forces the user to play every mission how Rockstar wants them to play it.

The series has regressed offline with IV and then V.

For sure. It would be nice to see a return to that in GTA 6, but it will probably be 2027 before we get a new game.

I get it, but it's still a 60 dollar entry fee. And that's not a coincidence. The idea is to sell people a product at the normal MSRP for a brand new AAA game. And not living up to that is a risk they took.

Honest question, but what exactly is supposed to be so bad about the definative edition? I see talk about Cyberpunk and how it's a disaster. It's literally the same games from 20 years ago with a fresh coat of paint, a waypoint, and weapon wheel. What were people expecting?

The original games, for whatever they're worth, have been available forever for only a few bucks for people who care that much about them. I know Rockstar has delisted them but anyone who cared would have already owned the old versions. I get folks not wanting to spend 60$ on essentially 20 year old games, so just dont.

I did read about people on PC preordering the game and the Rockstar launcher going down for maintenance or something and they cant even play the game. I'd be pissed at that one. I dont really understand the outrage though in regards to how the game plays or what more Rockstar should have done.

Great post. I guess I'm missing something too because I'm puzzled. If people are having issues running the game I can understand being upset, but that doesn't seem to be the bulk of what I'm seeing. Most of the complaints seem to be about hating the art style or anger because they're being charged $60 for three games.

I learned this was coming out not too long before it's actual release date and the updated controls were my selling point. Were people promised this was going be a Naughty Dog quality remaster at some point? I'm genuinely asking. Gamers like to bitch so much that it's hard to know when there are serious issues.

The idea that anyone who cared would already have them like new people don’t build/buy PCs is ridiculous. Rockstar has been bull****ting PC gamers for a while now so that isn’t surprising but taking down mods and removing the old versions from Steam while trying to push everyone to their launcher which sucks is just trash.
