I am addicted as well. My only real complaint is that in a pre-launch video the team talked about not having to grind and eliminating those exclamation points over the head quests. Well in the starting area the exclamation points have been replaced with hearts...and I have often comes to an instance that suggests I need to be one or two levels higher so I have to go find a world even or heart I haven't done and grind that way.

It is worth it though. The game has sucked me in and forget about all of the other games I was playing.

I have yet to grind in the game with the exception to trying to farm certain tradeskill mats.

Literally, everything you do in the game gives experience.

Starting at level 1 you can go out and do a heart quest or two, sell the items you got from looting, and have about 1-2silver.

At that point you buy your harvesting tools....mining / logging / sickle. Each node you gather is worth anywhere from 2-3x exp than any mob you kill. Every node you see on the map is yours and no one elses, its just screaming free experience and money when you run by one.

See the yellow colored , no aggro mobs? They are usually worth 2-3x the experience due to people not killing them. The longer a mob is spawned, the more exp it is worth. Since most people leave them alone, you get an exp bonus for killing them

Even at level 1, go into your main city and get 100% completion for finding all the waypoints / points of interest / vistas etc....and youll gain right at 1 level or more for just exploring the city, and this is without killing one mob. Warp to the next city from the purple gate ( Asura Gate ) and repeat and you can be level 6 or so without setting foot into the actual combat zones.

Once you get into a combat zone, gather everything you see. Wood / Ore / Veggies etc...and go back to a crafting station and even if you just do the level 1 combine of ore / lumber or whatever, thats another 2-3 free levels.

If you see a dynamic event spawn, do it. Those give huge exp rewards plus all the mobs involved in doing it. Slap down any form of AE...wether it be a bow, greatsword attack , fire, trap...whatever and tag as many mobs as possible and watch the exp fly.

The game world will down level you so you remain current to the area you are in, so you dont have to worry about over leveling an area and trivializing it, but with the skill points you earn and so on, it makes them easier. If you concentrate on getting 100% zone completion, youll never have to grind / worry about not being high enough to do content.

By grind I mean quest grinding. I am now two levels below an instance and it still is not enough. Of course I do tend to solo the instances.

Anyone up for trying to have a certain night where we get online and meet up? We can alternate things we do each week...PVE, PVP, WvWvW, dungeons when we all get high enough. I really want to group up!

Built a new pc because I was running this on my outdated comp and had everything set to low (was only getting like 12 fps in areas with a lot going on), getting less than 30 out of combat.

Wow this is like a whole new game, everything on high the graphics look amazing compared to low! Not to mention the fact I'm now around 130 fps out of combat and running about 60 in combat.

I would be down for this. I always play by myself, wouldn't mind having some people to play with. With free world transfers right now, now would be the time to do it.

Send me a friend invite I already hit 80 a while ago but I wouldn't mind doing some low level areas for the 100% area completion bonus. I'm on Ft. Aspenwood but I hear they got the guesting feature working so there shouldn't be any problem. Gametag should be in the sig.

I know in Asura zone it is in a hub in the city of Rata Sum

I reached level 17 yesterday and decided to try my lvl 19 instance. I wiped out the first mob wave and was so excited, only to encounter a second wave covered in force fields. Sigh. Got wiped within a minute. Still, I think the way points make wandering around looking for quests and events much easier. If I go very far I can easily warp back
