      Can't answer the PS3 question.

Hit 50 about an hour ago on SMN/SCH/ACN, now have 5/5 AF pieces for SMN/SCH. Now the real fun begins.

I have experienced a little lag in fate/ high volume areas. Nothing major at all thou. Haven't done any dungeons yet, but I don't see it being an issue in there.

          Free Trial Extension

To apologize to our loyal fans who may not have been able to login or create characters during early access and the days immediately following launch, the development and operations teams are currently considering providing all player accounts with an additional seven days to their free trials. This includes non-legacy players from 1.0, who will be given new seven-day free trials. Trial extensions will be awarded after the aforementioned server maintenance on Wednesday. Details on the trial extension, including the extension period, will be released in a separate post as soon as they have been solidified.

We thank our fans again for the overwhelming support you have shown us over the past week. The response to FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn has well exceeded our expectations, and unfortunately resulted in our inability to provide the service which we originally intended. We humbly ask for your continued patience as we work to alleviate the issues as we truly appreciate all of our fans. We are very sorry for the frustration that has resulted from these problems.
I know many of you are still affected by the World login and character creation restrictions, so I would like to give you all a brief update on the progress of the measures we are taking to alleviate this situation. Current Server Status To ensure as many players as possible can log in and create characters on existing servers, our development and operations teams are monitoring server load and population around the clock, placing and removing restrictions with even the slightest

Gonna open up a new thread for FFXIV, so we can keep this thread about general MMO news.

In Wildstar news, it sounds like nothing new really came out of PAX this week. Just a bunch of reinforcing what was previously known about the game. I stay cautiously optomistic that the game will be fun to play.

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread

Also for targeting issues, you can hold L2 or R2 to bring up your cross hot bar, and then tap L1 or R1 to cycle through enemies. I'm not sure if it's enemies only or if it actually uses your target settings.

My biggest hurdle with PS3 is having to cut corners to save space on my hotbars since I don't like to be switching through bars all the time. The way I'm going about it right now is to have all of similar skills on one macro'd skill, prioritize the skills in the order of most importance, and then whenever I need one of them, to mash that macro and it will use whichever the first ability that is available in the macro..

              For instance having:

              /recast "Foresight"
              /recast "Bulwark"
              /recast "Keen Flurry"
              /recast "Featherfoot"
              /ac "Foresight" <me>
              /ac "Bulwark" <me>
              /ac "Keen Flurry" <me>
              /ac "Featherfoot" <me>

While I have this macro listed as my "Evasion Buffs", it's mainly for buffs that need actual physical attacks to kick in. Then I'll have another one just for buffs like Rampart that reduce ALL damage by a %. Need those 2 separate because my example macro up there all need physical attacks for the buffs to kick in, while Rampart and other PLD buffs are for all types of damage. Then I have other macros for Healing (Bloodbath, Thrill of Battle, Second Wind... there's a few more) and Damage (Berserk, Raging Strikes, etc., etc.).. I use all of these macros as all purpose macros with all of the skills from all classes/jobs that way I can just place these macros on my hotbar for all of my classes and it allows flexibility with hotbar space. The good thing is that the /recast commands only show up for the skills that your class can currently use.. The bad part is that there's no indicator of how much time is left before you can use any of the skills without hitting the macro again to show you the /recasts. Also, you need to turn off the error commands in your chat filters to keep from getting spammed with error messages every time you hit the macro..

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread

                More general information.

I'm normally not one for Kickstarter, and I still stay very convinced that this won't hit it's budget... but it may be an MMO to keep an eye on in case it does.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen Kickstarter

Also, a PCGamer article about the game.

If they end up meeting their goal and the game ends up coming out in time... This is easily the most excited I'll be about any MMO currently in development. It has that "old-school, difficult, social" feel written all over it. Something that has been sorely missing since the first EverQuest.

Really should have structured the tiers differently. Backed it at the $45 'get everything most would want no need to kick in more' tier. Might increase it later.

Agreed. If I decide to back it, it will be at that $45 dollar price.

However, McQuaid is still public enemy #1 (or #2, behind Smed) to a lot of the old-school fans this game is aimed at. That and 800k buys a lot of opiates on the black market.

I do/did as well. Just sad that it's a bastardized version of it now.

EQN on console could be a time sucker for me if it's good. I expect it to be absolute **** (considering it's f2p and action-combat, I will harp on that endlessly) but the AI could be (hopefully will be) game changing.

Also if they release an EQ:OA redux and champs of norrath redux, I'm in.
