Yeah you have to accept the raise, mainly as a means to keep you from dying immediately after raising so you can wait to take the raise when it's safe. There's a raise weakened state after being raised but I'm not sure what the effect is, in XI you were severely gimped until it wore off and you had like 10% of your normal max HP.. Haven't even noticed it when I've been raise weakened in this game, just raise and go back to fighting.

Yoshi did an outstanding job in turning around this trainwreck. The original FF14 was hot garbage and somehow basically Yoshi fired that entire team and has made this pretty darn amazing.

Can't agree more.

FFXIV (the original) was THE MMO I was hyped up for. Went out and bought the collector's edition early to play after beta. Lasted about a month, it was horrendous.

After being a part of this whole beta process from the reboot until now, I can't believe how everything has turned around. This is back to being the game I had hoped for back then - even if I don't like everything about the game, it is still an MMO that I can get behind.

Raiding in the Final Fantasy world, I'm back!

Q. Can PC and PS3 players play together?
-yes PC and PS3 can play together. I know in FFXI you could play with Japanese people and there was a language tool to help you communicate with party members that didn't speak English.

Registration for early access is starting to work for some people after being a trainwreck yesterday.

Be aware that it's still getting hammered and might not work right away (you're likely to receive an Error 3 code). But I did manage to get in and get my PC code registered after trying several times yesterday and today.

Also, if you do get error 3, refresh the entire page before trying again, instead of just hitting confirm.

Well... If p4 and the registration are any sign, expect a bunch of server issues.

That being said - I'm about to crash. Fiancée wants to be evil and drag me to the LA area tomorrow for some crap reason. I'm getting all the playtime in I can before I have to leave.

Have fun with it and don't worry about getting overwhelmed. Most MMOs share common terms / themes and those that have played MMOs before will have a much better general grasp of whats going on.

Enjoy the ride. These games can last you from anywhere from 100, to 1000s of hours of gameplay and you can make friends that last longer than a decade.

Well worth the plunge in my opinion.

Marvel Heroes calls itself a MMO, but IMHO it's just a FtP, not a real MMO. DCOU was my first MMO, and it was ok, but felt like any other game, just a lot of folks in it, for reasons that rarely made any sense or added anything to the game. Mostly I've tried to stay away from MMO's as I understand they can be as addictive as crack.
