It still has it's bugs and issues but even when its working properly some people will get into groups easier than others. ESO follows the same pattern as other fantasy MMO's that have the standard group "synergy" for dungeons. What I mean is you have 1 tank, 1 healer and the rest are more dammage dealers. Just like other MMO's with this type of group synergy most people want to just dish out dammage and be the "killers" in the group. Also, being a DPS (dammage dealer) is the easiest and most stress free role to take on in a dungeon group. Tanks and Healers have the harder jobs and the pressure and both those roles honestly require more skill. Tank needs to keep the boss on him, and not on the rest of you. The healer needs to keep the tank healed while the boss beats on him, and keep an eye out for any dammage dealers in your group that wasnt paying attention and got whacked a few times.

With all of that said, tanks and healers are the minority of class types people play. So when you go into a group finder and you are a DPS'er and you highlight that as your role, youre usually going to wait longer to get in a group than a tank or healer. It's all about supply and demand.

I tank on my main character and it usually takes me about 10 minutes to get in a group, which really isnt that bad. I just que it up, set my role as the tank and just go about my adventures until the group fills up.

True, but at the end of the day, there are certain race/class builds together that are simply better at certain roles in Dungeons. An equally skilled Imperial DK/Templar tank will do a better job of being a tank than a Nightblade or Sorcerer geared and specced the same way.

Every class can heal, but when you hit endgame, an equally skilled and geared for healing Breton Templar will be a more effective healer than any other race/class/build make up in the game.

Its not saying other builds cant do it, but if you're wanting to be the optimal at healing or tanking, its those combos. Same goes for dammage. While anyone can be a dammage dealer, an equality skilled and geared up Altmer Sorc, Khajit Nightblade (dual wield) or Bosmer Nightblade (with bow) will out DPS/Dammage any combo race/build of a Templar or DK.

ESO is great because you truly do have flexibility in what you wanna do, but when you start hitting those veteran dungeons and running trials, you'll find a harder time getting in a group for a certain role when there's others out there with the more optimal race/class/build combo for that particular role.

Google deltia's gaming and go out to his site and he will break down for you the optimal race/class/build combos and why. Dude knows what he's talking about.

wanted to pick the game up but i don't have any friends into a game like this, so i would have no one to play it with...is this a big deal or is it ok single player, or is there a group here i could join?

I have like maybe 2 friends who have it, one never plays and the other 10 lvls ahead. You're fine alone.

As far as class/races, yeah you can min/max, but for the most part, anything you want to do can be viable. The only real exception I'd say would be a stamina sorcerer.

Just saw this in a lightning deal for $35. Never played an MMO before but loved my Oblivion/Skyrim experiences in the ES world. Would this be a decent entry into the MMO genre for that price?

Yes. It'll take a few days to get your bearings though. Don't expect it to wow you overnight.

That's definitely a good deal considering I just got the game at full retail . I'm still only at the beginning, just got to level 9, but the game is amazing so far. I'm still trying to get my head around all the skills and upgrades but love the experience of it.

General consensus i get is that people who have played MMORPGs or Elder Scrolls before don't like it - people who's first time playing both love it.

I'm an EQ vet, played vanilla Everquest from the original on to all the expansions for years. Played many other MMORPGs but EQ is where I cut my teeth.

I like this game a lot, so I definitely don't go with the flow of your general consensus. It's really a great game.

                          Re: Elder Scrolls Online

When I bought this for the PC, I didn't like it much. There were a lot of server issues, lag among other things I just didn't find it all that fun.

However, that was closer to launch. I just rented it two days ago for the PS4, and I've had a lot of fun. So, with a $40 gift card I had, I jumped on that deal. Honestly, if you have prime and your on the fence, for $30, you could almost get your money back in trade in value since a lot of retailers are still selling it at $59, which equates to a roughly $22-$30 dollar trade in value.
