      I read somewhere that men and women are wired differently. It all goes back to when we were primitive beings. Men want a partner who will produce good-looking, healthy-looking children. An attractive female partner will help with that. Females are primarily interested in someone who can protect and provide for them.

      When it comes to sex, all most men see is the physical aspects of a female. There isn't much of an emotional connection involved for guys. With girls, there's a ton of emotion connected with sex, so it might not necesscarily come down to how a guy looks. If she doesn't feel that certain 'something', it's not happening.

          Oh and whoever asked how much cardio you should be doing when you're trying to put on weight, I echo the person who said: NONE.

          If you're looking to put on weight you should be eating a high protein diet and doing weights at the gym at least 3 times a week. You should be doing low reps with heavy weight and on the last set you should be doing reps until the muscle cannot complete another:

          Let's say the most you can bench is 200 pounds or so.

          Example:

          Set 1 = 8 reps @ 150 pounds
          Set 2 = 8 reps @ 150 pounds
          Set 3 = as many reps of 150 pounds as you can do until you can't do anymore.

          Now some people may dispute what I say above, and that's fine because one thing I have found about fitness is that for every single viewpoint there is probably someone else with another completely. But from all that I have read (and it's a LOT believe me) this is pretty much the thing I read the most for guys trying to bulk up in a good way, not an obese-like-della-reese way.

          As for me, i'm fat so I'm currently doing circuit training 2 times a week for about an hour a session + 4 sessions of varying intensity cardio. It's important for me that I not just lose weight but also increase strength and tone.

            Tommy Moffits system....ive seen it work. im actually excited to start it

            btw im aiming to lose 10 lbs to play LB instead of OT

              At school normally when we're doing heavy sets this is what we do.
              I think this is what I had for bench at some point this spring.
              Warmup: 10 reps 115
              Second Warmup: 5 reps 135
              1st Heavy Set: 3 Reps 185
              2nd Heavy Set: 3 Reps 185
              3rd Heavy Set: 3 Reps 185
              4th Heavy Set: Burnout 185

              Last year our coach only had us do 3 heavy sets, this year he changed it, and damn, it kills.

              That up there is a tiring workout, especially if you're squatting or cleaning.

              And for gaining weight, constantly eat as many peanut butter sandwiches as your body can handle.

              I have team camp next mon.-wed. and then lifting/conditioning starts that monday. Normally I dread it starting, but I'm pumped this year. I need to get in a routine, and being with my coaches daily helps me stay motivated to gain weight. Right now I want to gain at least 10 pounds by August. I would like to gain more like 15-20, though, pretty much as much as possible so I can play OT and be a larger precense at DE.

                im not a good bencher. not at all. i was lucky to get 205...
                im 6'5" 225 and have super long arms. but im a pretty kickass squatter...got 365

                ya im not getting a scholarship

                  I'm 6'4'' 200 right now, and I would play TE, but we have about 5 of those in my grade, and we need linemen. I played tackle last year in JV and played some mop up in Varsity. My squat is pitiful. I'm not very strong, but I normally don't have a problem outplaying people that are a bit stronger than me.


                  But 365, that's a big number. I thought it was great when someone got 315 5 times when we maxed. A kid in my grade that lives down the street and goes to a different school benches 315, and I can't believe it.

                  I don't go to a big school, though. We're 3a, and Oklahoma goes up to 6a. Next year I should get a little playing time. Senior year I'll start. I'm fine with that, I'm just doing my part every day.

                    365 is good yes but not good enough for me. i must pass 400.

                    is that you on your card? dude if it is your the exact mirror of our FB who just graduated, with the exception of skin color, which doesnt matter. not nearly the strongest but damn that boy could reach back and knock the hell outta you.

                    as far as playing time goes, we spilt playing time with 4 tackles last year, and ill be honest i was the worst out of all 4. i hate it but ill do my part and do pursuit drills each day so i can be mike backer/squeeze.

                      lmao, maybe I should change that. You are the second person to ask that. My arena pic is Eltoro Freeman, Auburn's 5* LB commit from last year.

                      I know Louisiana football is pretty good, are you on the highest level?

                      My team is technically 4a, but we play in a different conference. It's the Southwest Preparatory Conference, so we play one team from Oklahoma City, and the rest are from Dallas and Houston. We've been in the championship game the last 5 years, but only won it once. Last year was a definite heartbreaker. We play some pretty good talent, especially against the other top team. Last year a true freshman from their school played considerable time at Linebacker for Texas. They had the a top 20 receiver in the nation last year, and they have the top WR in the state of Texas, if not the nation for the 2011 class. We should've beat them last year, though. We won 55-34 in the regular season. We lost 10-3 in the championship game. It was the coldest night of the year so far in Tulsa, and it was really windy. We couldn't get anything going. It is what it is, though.

                        Live Oak/Zachary is the Iron Bowl of LA 4a football. But we've....never...beat...them....this year wasn't heartbreaking...it was....depressing. i lost my drive to do anything after that game. we were up 24-12 with about 5:00 to go in the 4th. we noticed we were winning and freaked out. we had 4 turnovers....3 fumbles. they won 32-24.

                        i cried.

                        to get the feeling how much we ****in hate Zachary, they broke off of the School Board so they can become Independent just so they can raise moeny for turf.

                        i geuss if Urban Meyer came to coach Bamma you'd get how i feel for Zachary.

                          Question for all you experts.

                          Would it be possible to get in shape and add muscle mass at the same time? I'm not talking running several miles a day, more like maybe jogging a mile or two every other day to get back in shape. At the same time I want to keep lifting and hopefully continue to put on muscle. I guess I'd just like to know if I can have a happy medium.

                            That's heartbreaking. Our biggest rival is the private school across the city. I play for Holland Hall, and our rival is Cascia Hall. In 07 we lost because of ONE PLAY, the final score was 0-7. Our linebacker slipped and fell, and they scored on that play.

                            Last year the game was close the whole time, we were winning for about half the game, but just couldn't pull it out.

                            Losing rivalry and championship games sucks!
