I don't care if it's fat or muscle, I just want the weight.

One more question is what do some of your ab workouts look like? I'm looking to try to do a little workout every day but I want to make sure and get the most out of it. Basically what I'm looking for is what are the best workouts to do, how many reps, sets, etc.

I go through about 8-10 exercises doing 30 reps of each with no rest in between. So I'm going straight for 5-7 minutes I'd say, it's a good burn. Most of my ab workout comes from squats/lunges, etc.

I've switched up from heavy/Olympic style lifting and I'm doing light-weight high-rep stuff exclusively for now. Part of it is that I just can't put on weight during basketball season and the other part is that I don't want to put on anymore weight. It's time to slim down and lose a little of that fat.

My playing weight in college was 215, I think 225 is good for me and I'm at 237 right now.

I'm doing a circuit-style workout aimed at losing fat, 8 exercises, two sets of each exercise for each time through the circuit with 30 seconds of rest between sets. It really gets your heart going and a great sweat, something I definitely wasn't getting with 5x5 and 1:30 rests. I'm just going through it twice so far, I'll start going through three in about 2-3 more weeks.

I'm really focusing on lower body, lunges, squats and step-ups. They've helped my legs so much and I feel 18 years old again. I've got a spring in my step, I'm quicker on the court again and feel light on my feet.

Also, my New Year's resolution w. the wifey was to start doing Yoga. So I'm about two months in and this stuff has been amazing so far. I used to go to a chiropractor twice a week my back was so bad, I haven't gone once this year and the thought of going hasn't crossed my mind once yet. It's a very nice feeling to alleviate back pain.

My diet is okay, it can still be better but that will change when the weather warms up and there's more to keep me busy. No more bored-eating fests.

You'll notice more definition in your chest and everywhere else if you keep your diet clean and drop body fat.

I don't know much about direct targeting a specific part of the chest. I would just try and mix it up and eat right.

My ab workouts consist of about 200 reps of ab exercises one day, with no weight. I do 5 sets of 2x20 and do some push ups in between as a break.

Other days I add weight to my ab exercises. This helps make the muscles grow...because they are muscles.

You want a 6-pack you need to...
              A) Have an insane metabolism
              B) Keep your diet almost perfect
              C) Build up your abs so when you body fat is low enough they show, remember they are muscles too

This is my constant struggle...A doesn't apply to me. I eat almost perfect and I need to lose about 5-10 lbs of fat from my midsection and I will have reached my goal of looking like a stud.

To me if I eat PERFECT for 6 weeks I'll be at my goal. Today is day #3!

I would love to gain about 40-50 pounds but keep my core like it is now. Any suggestions please let me know.

Steroids. Seriously, its almost impossible to gain that amount of weight and still be cutting fat.

Bodybuilding is like saving money, your saying you want your bank account to grow and still have your current lifestyle. The only way to do that is cheat.

All my life ive been slim. I'm only about 5'11 about 140 on a good day and run about 30 -40 miles a week. I just would like to be in the 180-190 range proportionately. i will never do the steroid thing. That aint my style.

The only thing you can do is start trying to eat 1g of protein for every lb you wiegh per day. Stop running so much and start lifting more. Take days off as well.

Well here the thing. To gain weight and keep your abs like that means you're going to have to gain weight slowly. It would take you a couple years to gain 30 lbs of muscle, let alone 50.

There are a ton of variable that go into this...

First if you have a high metabolism...you're not going to gain that weight.

If you have a normal metabolism then you just need to eat.

A good weight gaining food is peanut butter believe it or not. Add a couple spoonfuls of that a day and up your calorie intake and you might see a little difference on the scale within a couple weeks.

Oh and by the way 180-190 for you is pretty big. I'm 6-3 with a pretty big frame and I'm shooting for the 185-195 range. (Currently 206)

I think if you got to 170ish that would suit you better.

STILL THAT'S A LOT OF EATING & LIFTING!!!! Oh and most importantly..TIME

What do you think would be a good weight for someone 6'4" with a very small frame? By very small I mean that I was supposed to be like 5'10" but wound up being 6'4", so pretty much I just stretched vertically.

Thanks stewaat. I'd be ok with the 170-180. I'll be thirty two in a few months and people always say that men blow up after they hit thirty. It ain't happened yet. I remember when I was in basic training for the Air Force, I ate any and everything. Ended up gaining about 25 pounds in 6 weeks. Maybe it was because we got two minutes to eat per meal and I couldn't do #2 for about the first three weeks. My pops is about 5'7 175 and his calf muscles look like boulders. Even if I don't gain the weight has anyone in here tried out that P90X program? Those people in the infomercial are ripped.
