Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

Which do you think would be a better workout routine?

    Day 1 - Chest/Tris; Cardio
    Day 2 - Hard Cardio
    Day 3 - Bis/Back; Cardio
    Day 4 - Hard Cardio
    Day 5 - Legs/Shoulders
    Day 6 - Cardio

    OR

    Day 1 - Chest/Tris; Hard Cardio
    Day 2 - Bis/Back; Cardio
    Day 3 - Legs/Shoulders
    Day 4 - Cardio

Basically I'm trying to decide how many and when my days off should be.

Anyone heading back to the gym now that its starting to get warmer out?

I started really going again at the beggining of last week after signing up in January and never really commiting myself to it. Now I'm going 4 days a week and eating very "clean" while trying to bulk up at the same time.

I've been going all year still, but finally got a program I like and a new diet so hopefully I'll be able to get cut. I'm also working on my vertical so I will be able to dunk sometime soon.

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.

A small step for me. Today has made 25 straight days I have exercised. One day I do 30 mintues of the cardio, the next day I do 15 minutes of cardio and a total body resistance training workout. I am not trying to get huge but rather drop a bunch of weight. I am trying to lose 10% of my current body weight.

The hardest part for me is not the exercising but watching what I eat. I have been cutting back on the sodas and drinking more water (I drank lots of water before it is just a lot more now). I am working on not eating so much at one time.

I have not weighed myself since I started because I belief the scale does not tell the whole story. I know my clothes are fitting looser and I am feeling better which is the main thing I go by. I will find out my weight when I go to the doctor next month.

You may not want to work out, because you are happy with the way you look and think you're ok because you are not fat. But, you still may not be healthy.
QFT. This is such a HUGE misconception. Skinny does not equal fit or healthy. Having no muscle mass could almost be as bad as having too much fat.

there are plenty of posts in here about actual exercise and diets so i'll leave that alone, the biggest tip i'll give you is DRINK AS MUCH WATER AS YOU CAN STAND. it helps keep you feeling full so helps with the diet, and being hydrated helps with your body fat balance. i have known people who focused on drinking more water daily for like 2 weeks and dropped 5 lbs...

the problem with too much water is that you will look bloated, i agree that you should drink some water but definitely NOT as much as you can stand unless you wanna look fatter than you really are

I agree. I'd only drink as much water as your body needs, not more unless your taking creatine or something that requires more water.

I drink about a gallon a day, seems fine for me. It's funny, when I wake up after a night of drinking and look in the mirror my abs look much better because I'm so dehydrated, lol.

                              Same here.

I heard that a good rule of thumb about your water intake is to check your urine. If it's a really darkish-yellow, you need to drink more. If it's lighter or relatively clear, you're good as far as hydration.

I always feel my body looks its best physically after a long night of drinking. Between being dehydrated and DC #2 thread on I feel that I look more cut up.
