Graphik man no high school girl is worth all this. I could understand wanting to salvage a relationship with someone in their 20s but not an 18 year old girl. Its almost like you've taken on the role of an 18 year old guy in this situation.
What have I gotten myself into?!?

Re: What have I gotten myself into?!?
Why do you want to go? Its not your prom and you really wont know anybody there but your date.
Also, if she dumps you because you wont go to the prom with her....she probably isnt the one for you. As mature and intelligent as you say she is, I'm suprised she doesnt realize how embarrasing and awkward this will be for you.
Good call. Actually I've met more than a few of her friends. Nothing to the point where I've kicked it with them. As for wanting to go, 2 reasons. I never went to my HS Prom so it'll be like my second childhood.(Silly, I know) and secondly, I want to make her happy. I know it may be nothing for her to find another date but to go to prom with somebody she doesn't really want to go with.....not a good thing.
As for the awkwardness, we'll have a talk about it. When we were heading home from the train just this past weekend, she was flipping though one of these prom dress mags and she was pointing out stuff we should wear. Everytime she mentioned something I sunk lower and lower in my seat. She noticed my unenthusiasm and asked me what was wrong. I could'nt really explain it then. Hence, the creation of this thread.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Regardless, you have to tell the truth eventually bro. If the fam flips, so be it. This is NOT a secret you will be able to keep indefinitely. Might as well let the family hear it from you.

Re: What have I gotten myself into?!?
My suggestion is get away now. Cause I know as a father, that if my daughter brought home a guy your age, and she is 18, id be real pissed.
Not sure what the statutory laws are around you, but i just cant see this working out if they get pissed you lied for what seems to be a year.XBL Gamertag: Ralphy2142

First, man, you need to man up and at least put the truth out to her parents bro. If you let it go on any longer, it's going to get even worse. I'm sure that since you've built up rapport with them, and every seems to be okay with you as a person, that you can explain. Things will probably get VERY shaky and akward for a little bit, but if I were you, I'd ask their permission to continue dating her. It shows that you respect them enough to seek their permission and their acceptance.
Beyond that, if you get their approval, go to prom if you want man. There's a huge age difference, but if you're cool w/ it, then don't worry about everyone else laughing at you. They will be laughing at you... lol.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: What have I gotten myself into?!?
That was an interesting read, Graphik. Personally, I don't see the age difference as that big of deal, 20 years from now, 9 years won't seem like such a big age gap. My sister who is 20, is going out with a guy who is 34, which seemed weird at first to me, but once I met him, it didn't really seem all that weird, and he's a nice guy, it's not like he's some perv or anything.
With that said, you probably shouldn't be going to a prom at 27, that would be a little weird, IMO.Blind to this impending fate
