    Favorite Beer(s)

In honor of Graphik's post in the "Neighborhood", here is a topic for all those folks of age.

What is your favorite beer to drink? Domestic, imported, microbrew...doesn't matter (though I'm not talking about the slam 'em down to get plastered Natural Light variety, unless it's your thing).

Myself, I'm pretty flexible and have a bad habit of buying a new six pack everytime I make the trek, trying to find that "perfect" beer. My list focuses on beers that should be available in most places.

While I know I said favorite, I have to list a few:

    1. Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat - I just love this one. It's not overly fruity, and the cherry just makes this wheat beer a winner!

    2. Fat Tire - I know most of you east of the Mississippi haven't tasted this beauty yet, but it's coming. It's from a small brewery in Ft. Collins, CO (New Belgium) and it's just fantastic from the tap!

    3. Heineken - A popular beer, but well balanced and light on the palate.

    4. Michelob Amberbock - One of my all time favorites, even from my "experimental" days

Honorable Mention: Any black porter. I love the dark beers, especially those with chocolate and caramel malts (Black & Tan was one, but it's been discontinued). I'm also a big fan of pretty much anything that Brewer Patriot makes, with the exception of their Scotch Ale, who's sheep peat "secret" ingredient just sours the beer.

Wouldn't say all ages, since this site has a few users under the age of 21.

So, uh, favorite drink? Grape Kool-Aid.

Anything by New Belgium that I've had is pretty good. Fat Tire and Sunshine Wheat are the two best to me. Also generally enjoy the Sam Adams seasonal brews, with the Summer Ale being my favorite of those. I also like most anything from Sierra Nevada.

I had my fill of Coors back in my college days. I went to the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO (home of the brewery) and we had a weekly "Coors Lab", whereby we did the brewery tour, got our three free ones, and then went to whatever party/event was going on.

Hell, after particularly grueling chemistry tests we'd have a mid-day Coors lab

EDIT: Those Sam Adams seasonals are pretty good too. I've had some Spring Ale in my fridge for a while and now that the Summer Ale's out I get to transition. Stella Artois, for the person who mentioned, was also a very surprising beer that a local steakhouse had on tap. Good complement to a surf and turf.

The cheaper, the stronger, the better. So I"m going to have to go with some nasty a$$ steel reserve.
