maybe it's just me, but I don't understand the obsession with Corona.
In Mexico, it's one of the cheapest, lower-quality beers you can buy. It's like a Natty Light/Keystone Ligth/Beast Light in terms of quality.Lux y VeritasComment

Unfortunately that's the case with a lot of the highly advertised foreign beers. It's like if you go to Europe and see Budweiser listed as an American import. Like we don't have 500+ beers that are better than Bud.
If you like Newcastle you should try it with Guinness. I've seen it called a "Black Castle" and it is a much better combo than a black & tan (Guinness/Harp).
I tend to go for IPAs myself. There's just something about a nice hoppy beer with some bite. Some of my favorites: Sierra Nevada (of course), Victory Hopdevil, Hopmouth (can't remember the brewing company) and Burning River.Comment

If you go to any nice resort in Mexico, they don't even serve Corona. I spoke with one of the bartenders about it and he said they think it tastes terrible. I agree.
When I was there they served Dos Equis and one other Mexican beer that I can't recall the name of. Dos Equis is decent, but I personally prefer something a little darker.Comment

I've had it before, I'm not a huge fan of it. Guinness is my second favorite beer behind Newcastle, but mixing them together doesn't do it for me. I'm an even lesser fan of Black & Tans. You should take the brewery tour here in wonderful exotic Pottsville, PA. It's pretty cheap and you can sample two brews. Just don't plan to stay overnight as there isn't anything else to see here unless you like coal mines or a town burning from under ground..Comment

Just got back from Walt Disney World and I did the world beer tour at Epcot. Found a couple faves and was wondering if anyone's seen them or tried them:
Carlsberg - this is a light, Norwegian beer that was very smooth
Harp - the Irishman at the counter said it's by the makers of Guiness, and as I hate the latter I wasn't all that excited. However it was TRULY a top notch brew!I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams
