    Re: Favorite Beer(s)

Nice. A topic I know a bit about.

I stick mostly to Montana microbrews, but there's a few others I like to have every once in awhile...

    Moose Drool
    Summer Honey
    Trout Slayer
    Black Star
    Alaskan Amber
    Sam Adams
Belgian White from Alberta (I can't remember the name but I've had it up in Whistler before and I always pick it up when I'm up north)
    Kokanee

I've had Moose Drool before, but I can't recall if I liked it or not (love the goofy names, Boise had Buttface Amber Ale which was a tasty brew).

Kokanee is another one that I recall enjoying, when my college roomate brought some down after Christmas break, since he was a Pacific northwesterner.

Big Buck Brewery has a sampler that is 6 or 8 ounce glasses of 10 beers I think, we do it every time we go up north for our golf trip. I definately ruined the bathroom in there as my buddy didn't finish his dark beers 3 or 4 "darks" out of ten and he challenged me to chug them. Well they had warmed up a tad in the half hour that they had been sitting at our table and I couldn't quite get to the toilet, damn close though. I walked back to the table and just threw down some cash and said "I gotta get out of here," and walked across the parking lot to our hotel and crashed. I puke alot in bar bathrooms... wierd.

Moose Drool is an acquired taste. A lot of people love it, but others hate it. I didn't like it at first. I thought of it as "cold coffee", but I grew into liking it after drinking it a few times.

probably, but you don't ever really acquire for a taste for Natty Light you just put up with it because it'll get you drunk.

The other night I found a 2006 Siera Nevada Big foot barleywine beer that I had sitting in my "cellar" for a year and a half. Absolutely delicious after letting it age for a year.

THAT'S RIGHT! It does have the coffee-ish taste and I was reminded of Buzz Beer from 'The Drew Carey Show'! That's why I really liked the Michelob Black & Tan, since it had that pseudo-coffee, chocolatey taste in a dark beer.

The worst budget was sold in Florida back in the 80's and it was called Blatz Beer. It was so bad you had to buy a case just to salvage a six pack.

                                I've had Blatz.

Carling Black Label in a can and Genesee 12 Horse Ale are neck-and-neck for the dubious title of the worst beer I've ever tasted. We used to call Black Label "Black Death" back in high school in the early 80s.
