    Re: Favorite Beer(s)

Blue Moon is probably my favorite beer. But for your normal "beer" I'll take Coors Light. I'm also partial to Budweiser.

I also enjoy season brews. Last winter the local liquor store had "Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale". That stuff was really good.

I'm one of those "Beer Snobs." I won't touch any of the mass-produced junk. Tsk tsk. LOL.

Anyway, in no particuliar order, my favorites:
      - St. Bernardus 12
      - Smuttynose Brown Dog Ale
      - anything by Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY
      - Stone Imperial Russian Stout
      - Affligem
      - Rochefort 10
      - Chimay Blue
      - Delirium Nocturnum
      - any stout by Mackeson
      - Collaboration not Litigation (brewed only once this January, but it is damned good. Try it if you have the chance)
      - for a lighter beer, anything made by Weihenstephaner

There are many, many others that I like, but these come to mind as my favorites.

BTW, Moose Drool also rocks! Have only had it a few times, but it's a great stout.

          Re: Favorite Beer(s)

Haha, check out a mini-review that I found about Delirium Nocturnum:

"Delirium Nocturnum is the one brown beer that could give Newcastle a run for its money. The sister ale to Delirium Tremens, itself a lighter brown beer, Huyghe's Delirium Nocturnum is an earthier-flavored Spaten Optimator, without the aftertaste. It has a creamy head and is as murky as a Mississippi mud pie. Although it's considered a Belgian Brown Ale / Belgian Strong Ale, this rare find looks like Texan oil and smells like the sap of some aging, Bavarian oak. An internet site reported that in late 1999, the State of Washington banned Delirium Nocturnum because of a law that forbids the sale of an alcohol product that promotes "excessive drinking" – apparently, the Webster Dictionary’s definition of Delirium conjured connotations of frenzied or crazy consumers. This is a sipping beer, so do not chug – or you may be branded as a frenzied minion of the beer variety. This is a great find - enjoy. -- Dopplebock"

I do love a Newcastle draft...

                      Sean Singletary
"Not wonderment," he said when asked if he was surprising even himself with his hot hand in Virginia's 108-87 victory against Gonzaga on Wednesday night, when he scored a career-best 37 points. "I was just wondering why they didn't play more `D.

WOW, laying off the Westy, and you've yet to ever have it?? I commend your patience and reserve. I strongly doubt I could do that. How much did you pay to get a bottle?

For those out there who haven't heard of Westveleteren - it's the beer that's consistently ranked #1 in the world. Unfortunately, the Trappist monks who brew it only brew enough to keep their monastery running. They do not import it, nor do they contract with a distributor. The only way to get it, I think, is by purchasing it directly at the monastery in Belgium, from the pub across the street from the monastery, or on the "grey market." The bottle apparently doesn't even have a label - the only marks are on its cap!

I love beer in the lowest carb, cheapest, large quantity options available:

                            30 Packs (cans) of:

                            Anheuser Busch Natural Light
                            Miller Lite
                            Michalob Ultra

i'm good for about 60 of some combination fo the above per week and still weigh what I did when I was a kid maaaaany years ago...

It's the sacrifices you make when you get older...but still like to drink like a teenager...

That's the one I couldn't think of...it was from Anheiser-Busch as one of their "premium" beers. I loved the slight vanilla notes and the oakey taste.

I'm going to have to head to the big liquor store in town, Friar Tuck, and buy pick 'em six pack or two (they have over 200 beers that you can mix and match for a six pack of your choice for a flat fee of seven bucks).
