Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
The NCAA Div 2 men's basketball selection committee. My college just won our conference championship. Beating 3 of the top 5 teams in our region all on the road. 2 games were close (against 3 and 5 both didn't move after tourney) and we played the #2 (was #1 at the time) blew them out by like 17-20. And we like the #8/9 seed in the last regional rankings. So how the hell did we not move up at all? We are the 8 seed...makes no ****ing sense whatsoever. And the national committee overruled the regional committee who only had us 7th...I'm speechless right now.Last edited by redsox4evur; 03-07-2016, 12:16 AM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Yeah, that does seem rather unfair, but I see 4 of the 8 teams in the Eastern region of the tourney are out of the NE-10 so I guess they wanted to avoid pairing 2 NE-10 teams in the 1st round. I don't know how many conferences send teams to the East region or if any of the other 4 teams in that region are from the same conference or how they fared in their respective conference tournaments, but all that and more must've factored into it as well. I guess they wouldn't or couldn't shuffle teams around between adjacent regions to make it easier to slot in 4 teams from the same conference instead of trying to seed all 4 in 1 region of 8 teams?Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Actually it's 5...SNHU, Bentley, Stonehill, St. A's and Southern Connecticut St. And Holy Family and Philly U are in the same conference and maybe St. Thomas Aquinas. And there are already 2 NE-10 playing each other Bentley and Stonehill.
And on the conference tournaments. I know Holy Family won and beat Philly. We faced Bentley in the finals, St. A's in the semis and then Southern Connecticut in the quarters. And beat all 3 on the road. Stonehill lost to Bentley is the semis. Also talking with some guys I know who have been following the SNHU team for years and go to every game they can (something like 60 games a year). They have said that the NE-10 is a much better conference than the others. So that's why you see so many teams from the NE-10 in there. So we got screwed and just have to play with a chip on shoulder.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Well, that has been my main fear. I've seen kids climbing it trying to get to the fruit, people on ladders, hell I even came home to one guy who BACKED his truck into my yard underneath the tree so he didn't have to use a ladder and stood in his truck bed loading it down.
I don't want to cut it down because it really is an awesome tree and produces more than any grapefruit tree I've ever seen. So my options are pretty limited and putting a damn sign just seems so childish. It seems more logical that people would be adults and either 1) stay off someone else's property without permission OR 2) They ask for permission.......but hey I know common sense is not that "common" anymore.
Next best solution.........eggs.......lots and lots of eggs. I'm just going to run out the house humming people with eggsComment

I'd get one of those new, high powered Nerf guns and sit up in the tree. Put a decoy of you in your wife's car and have her leave the house.
And wait.

I feel you Phobia. You would think it being someone else's property would keep people from it, but obviously that's not the case. I say the next step is a sign, because clearly people don't just grasp the idea of someone else's property not being theirs.
From there, you can escalate it step by step. Cover yourself on liability now.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
