We can limp it into safe mode enough to transfer files and upload to online backups. Suffice to say I'll be doing that more frequently.

Setting it back up won't be quite the anxiety attack it was back in the day, but still a PITA.

As a millennial, I will say millenialspeak and corny emoji usage are starting to reach more and more levels of cringe and that "40 year old who thinks he's still cool and hip" vibe. But it's the natural order of things.

I actually used to listen to the Jalen and Jacoby podcast pretty regularly. Well for about a couple months. Not proud of it lol. The sad thing is I got all the references, and technically it is right up my alley, but man the attempts at humor and vibe of the show feels so cringe. No knock on anyone who who likes it tho.

Reminds me of that commercial where Coach K and someone else (I don't know who it was) were watching an NBA game in which Justise Winslow was playing and Coach told the other guy to text Justise and tell him something so the other guys sends a text consisting entreily of emojis and promptly receives a reply also entirely in emojis then turns to coach K and says "He said thanks"

When people come into a store and HAVE to be on their phone the entire time. Like that conversation can wait until you get home. Or they'll just happen to run into someone they know and need to hold a convo in the middle of an aisle blocking foot traffic. It happens all the time at my work and I HATE IT.

When I was a retail worker I'd have been having none of that, LOL. Some places would have cool bosses that would let you give them sh*t right back. I think the old "the customer is always right" mantra has been fading, which is good because that's some BS.

Customer is always right line is just PR talk to make customers feel like they have rights.

Retail workers really don't get enough credit at their job, or when you look at a retail position on a resume. Retail workers have basically seen and done it all in their position, dealing with the most unbearable of customers, having horrible schedules, getting tasked with doing multiple people's jobs, while making minimum wage.

There's no doubt many who work in higher up jobs that wouldn't survive a day in a retail workers shoes.

I think "the customer is always right" has been fading since the mid 1900s early lol. You run a business for 2 seconds and you realize how dumb that is. It makes me think of hyper-unrealistic 1980s teen movies where a character is forced to put up with abuse from a customer. A cartoon reality.

The list could go on for ages, but some instances I can think of where the customer is clearly not right is when they find an item misplaced on a different shelf, then claim they should get the item for that price because they only picked it up because they saw it on the shelf with that price below it. Or better yet, they peel off those price gun stickers from some clearance item and put it on a different item and claim because the item is marked as that price, they should get it for that price.

I actually worked at a job in the past where both instances happened. Sad part, they got their way. They happened to conveniently already have a photo on their phone of where the item was before they picked it up off the shelf. Like who even does that unless they're going into the confrontation with a cashier knowing they're in the wrong?

Depending on the store, managers just let it slide because they'd rather not get bad reviews online, or hold up other customers from checking out by dealing with that 1 idiot.

And most times, it's people doing it over the minimal of things. It's not like they picked up a $400 item wanting it for $100. It's a $50 item they "deserve" to get for $35.

Bro how about the damn FaceTime conversations?!?! Are you kidding me with that ****?!? It's bad enough I have to hear your side of the conversation but not I have to hear their side as well?!? And when did it become a thing where people HAVE to see the other person while talking on a phone? I can understand if you're alone somewhere but out and about in public?!? Worst part is people already can't pay attention to anything while on a phone regularly. Now they are also looking at their phone and listening which means they have zero awareness of their surroundings. [emoji1751]

Public transportation is the worst for this. Not just facetime, but any phone conversation in general. There's ALWAYS that person on every trip who is talking so loud that everyone else around them can hear at least one side of the conversation.
