I still can't get over that l3ulvl's last deleted post in this thread says "fingered it out".

    I'll never grow up.

How is that even possible lol? I get not agreeing with/believing a lot of the **** Freud said...that dude was freaking nuts and many of his theories aren't exactly in favor anymore. But psychology in general is a field that has a lot of empirical data supporting phenomenon.

I mean, I just wrote a pretty long research proposal this semester. Which as some of you may know, involves a lot of reading/reviewing of previous literature. And through all the research I read, I never once sat there after reading and said "that conclusion was completely off base". And I was looking at conformity, a field that's been around since the 1940s/50s.

A lot of what they thought was true back then may have changed or not been supported in future research, but that's the beauty of science; things are always changing and the best you can do as a scientist is use the data and information you have to make a logical conclusion. Which in order to get your work published and get your theory known, you have to do.

I really don't know, maybe he thinks the brain and mind are more unique to each individual than they actually are, or you have to study literally every single person instead of just a select few for it to be proven a fact. The problem is that psychology is filled with theories and I think that word makes it hard for him to completely accept it.

I really don't understand his exact reasoning though, he never truly elaborated on it so I can only assume.

Right, but considering the average person's intelligence level I don't think they can comprehend enough for a good debate much less even know why they're arguing other than "I saw it on the TV."

You know what really grinds my gears?

Wearing a pair of pants/shorts that are maybe a size too big, so when you wear a belt they kind of slip under it around the crotch region so it looks like you're wearing a cup.

For some reason my pants typically don't have this problem, but a pair of shorts I wear for work, even though they're the same waist size as my pants, do. And I wear a walkie talkie on one of my belt loops so my shirt comes up around that area.

Bugs the **** out of me

I'm gonna thoroughly try on my next pair of work shorts. Probably start a waist size down.

Be that as it may, "scientific fact" is *always* up for debate because "scientific fact" is always changing.

I'm not sure if it makes me a bad husband or not, but it grinds my gears that my wife wants us to go to the graduation of the son of one of their close family friends.

This is someone that I've met twice (briefly) in the six years that we've been together. I get that they were close when the kid was younger and his mom has done a lot for my wife when she was in school... but, shouldn't a card and a nice check be sufficient enough?

A check ? For somebody that isn't even blood ? WTF ? A happy graduation would do just fine. I wouldn't even send them a card, let alone write them a check.

That's not really how graduation works. I got nearly $2500 when I graduated, a lot of it from people I hadn't seen in years.

Getting a song stuck in your head and then going on an endless quest to find a song similar to it and coming up empty (so far...).

What bugs me even more is getting a song stuck in your head that you don't even like.

I hate when there is a song on a video game that you want to buy and you can't find it at all. Not even on the artist website.

One of the Gran Turismo trailers from years ago had a song on it I really liked. It took 2-3 years before I found out it was from the Boom Boom Satellites.
