    On Movies:

We have a local theater (about 20 minutes from my hometown) that gets first run movies, but only one screen. They charge $5 to get into the movie and popcorn and such is pretty reasonable, for a movie theater. There are also a couple of others around where I live that get movies later, but it only costs, like, $3 to get in.

Them ticket prices make me so happy I get free tickets to movies. I think it's like $12 here for IMAX 3D.

Man, y'all are lucky to have theaters with such low prices. I haven't seen a theater that plays new movies with prices under $9 in a long time.

One of the reasons I wish I would've stayed in Johnstown was the fact that I got in for free since I knew most of the staff and my best friend worked there.

Paying $10 to watch a movie is ridiculous.

The narrative that only pretty people make it, in music specifically.

And when it's reached a head, the obvious push of artists like Adele & Lorde who aren't the prettiest ladies out there.

I don't even like Lorde and think she's average vocally at best. They did hit on the foreigner whose young and not that attractive, though. Adele has some pipes though, mad respect for that woman.

There's a theater by me that plays movies a month or two later. $5.50 gets you a ticket pop corn and pop. Upgrading to the mega ticket $6.50 gets you a ticket pretzel bites and a pop

Movie prices are expensive but I don't mind it because nowadays I only go see movies that are blockbusters anyway. 13, 14 bucks a couple times a year is no big deal. Plus, I find that the nicer theaters around here have less riff-raff. They do a good job in making sure people are off their cell phones, not talking, etc.

I rarely see a movie in the theater anymore outside of this small indie theater in my town however this year will be the first time in a while I go due to X-Men DOFP and Lucy coming out this summer. Theres never much out that I wantnto see immediately. I am Pissed I missed the Raid 2 when it was out around here.

I never go to anything but the matinees though because of the absurd prices and dummies in the crowd at later shows

Around me, it's like $13 or something, the crazier thing is that I knew people in high school who used to go to the movies every single week. Can't imagine spending over $600 a year to watch movies(maybe over $1000 when you factor in buying food throughout all those weeks)

There's something to be said about chasing life's passions. You're studying to become a teacher, right? How can someone tell you to do something different? That's one of the toughest jobs dealing with friggin' kids who have no damn clue about real life, but I'm sure one of the most rewarding when you possibly turn a child's life around. Can't imagine that feeling. You have the chance to be a real difference maker on some kid out there... that's priceless.

Pedestrians. Not as a driver but as a fellow pedestrian.

Backstory, I walk quite a bit in downtown Pittsburgh every day. 45 minute commute to park (10-15 mins on a weekend but that's another gear grinder) and then a 15 minute walk.

Also, I'm 6'3 so already have long legs but my legs are disproportionately long so I'm a fast walker just because my strides are very long.

My gear grinder doesn't have to do with slow walkers though.

People who walk in the middle of the sidewalk making it impossible to pass especially with foot traffic coming the other direction.

People who walk in packs. Side by side. I'm talking about three or more, not just two because I get that.

But three people walking side by side literally take up the entire sidewalk and short of stepping in the street to get around them, I am out of luck.

TWW. Similar to a DUI. Texting while walking is becoming a dangerous activity on our sidewalks. People swerve all over and stop suddenly if they need to really concentrate on the text. It's annoying when I am trying to walk around them and don't know which side to pass them on.

There's more scenarios than that and one involves umbrella's but I'll leave it at that.

All very nitpicky but it's a major gear grinder for me!

I have long argued that until people learn how to walk, we can't expect them to figure out the driving part.

When people decide to almost completely block the isle in a shop, you say 'excuse me' a few times and they don't take any notice, but if you say something a bit stronger they soon hear you then!
