Verizon does. I had unlimited data for years and years after they nixed the plan. I only switched after we moved and I never needed to tether for my internet.

The issue with keeping your grandfathered plan with Verizon now is that they don't subsidize your phone if you keep your unlimited plan.

When you wake up feeling good, driving to work you're fine, but as soon as you walk in the office, your nose starts running, you get a headache, eyes feeling like they're bulging out.

Can you be allergic to work?

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

As I understand it the only way to be "grandfathered in" is to buy a new phone at the retail price. If you choose to sign a new 2 year agreement, then you lose your unlimited data plan. I've been with Verizon for 12 years and while I think that their restricting 2 year contracts sucks, it was worth it to me since I could get a good deal on a relatively new phone (especially when they had their "New Every Two" deal).

I've never paid more than $200 for a phone and don't intend to start now. And like I said, data means more to me that minutes or messaging, so it's really going to suck when my bill is more each month even though I'm getting less data. Even though Verizon has always been expensive, I've never really wavered on switching, but I may have to consider it now.

          No wifi spots?

I'm debating if I even want a smartphone next time I have to "upgrade." I really only use texting and the other stuff I could live without honestly.

            Yeah the new plans suck.

I'm probably hopping off Verizon and on to something like MetroPCS where it's a flat rate and unlimited everything. The trade off is, of course, likely worse service. But my brother uses them and, for example, when we're down state to visit family, his service goes out slightly before mine. I have no evidence to support this feeling, but I think the coverage stuff they hype up is probably crap. I'm in a developed area so I'll probably be fine. Out in the sticks? Yeah, not so much, for any carrier.

I'm just hoping it works well at work, because that's where I use up all my data.

I mean, break down the cost of the new phone over the 24 month period...how much is you plan going up if you switch? $500 more for the phone is about $20 more a month. I'd pay the up front to have unlimited data over the $20 raise in bill to be capped.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

TV Talk show interviews(regardless if it's daytime or late at night) where it seems like the person doing the interview has basically no idea who the person they're interviewing is or anything about that person and their show.

I rarely watch these types of things anyways, only when I hear someone I like is gonna be on it(and even then,I don't find out that info much either), but the few times I do, it always does seem like that's the case with the interviews.

                  Another one:
When you wait for hot food to cool down so you can eat it. And during that window in which the food is cooled down enough to eat, something happens which causes you to delay eating the food for abit and the food gets cold.

Businesses with crappy security cameras. 75% of the population probably carries a phone that can do 1080p video. Why does every security shot seem like it was filmed on the original cell phone camera in 240p at 12 fps? I get some older stores not upgrading yet, but this local business that opened a year ago was scammed and the footage they have is pretty much useless.

My guess is it's pretty expensive to run the security cams 24 hours a day, every day. Same reason Big Brother is still in SD.

Big Brother is diff though, it's HD streaming online 24/7 so it's expensive. Though isn't BBCanada HD? They obviously have much lower budget than CBS.

lol, a show so horrible, CBS didn't even want to sue them anymore because they felt ABC got punished enough with the show.

The only problem is that those "unlimited" data plans on Virgin and Strait Talk and providers like that aren't really unlimited. They throttle down your speeds once you use 2.5 GB.

I just had the option to switch to a different provider and I just couldn't pull the trigger on one of those "unlimited" plans. It makes sense financially. You pay 600-700 up front for the phone, for example, and in a year, you have saved almost that much on your monthly bill vs what you would pay at one of the big boys. I was nervous about service and I didn't like the idea of them throttling down my data speeds. In 2.5 years with AT&T, I went over my two GB twice, and they just charged an extra 10 bucks and gave me another GB. I kind of like that better. Now, I switched to Verizon because I got no service with AT&T at my new apartment.

I hope that we start to see the big carriers get closer to unlimited in the near future. As technology gets better, maybe they will. In my college days, we were restricted to 2 GB per week on campus my first two years, then 10 GB per week my last two years... So I can see it happen.
