Back in the day people actually had to do this thing called "balancing a checkbook".

We legally have to show you your ledger balance because it's your money.
Funds availability rules are up to each individual bank but are pretty commonly next day across the board at this point.
Not a sneaky tactic or anything but it certainly can be deceiving.
Technically don't have to show you what's available but now THAT would be a sneaky way to cause anyone to overspend.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Thanks for the clarification. I actually posted that expecting you to fill me in. My fiancé worked at a bank once upon a time so I'm privy to some info most people don't know but this one just came up.
The online banking app doesn't even show available balance. The actual website does, but it's a few extra clicks away.
I just switched banks so I'm getting used to different rules and policies. That's one thing my old bank did well, clear available balance right there with your current balance and info.

Don't want to get too personal but in Delaware have you though about Wells Fargo? I still have an account with them and never had much problem(started as Wachovia) but I don't have one around here so I really don't use it anymore.Comment

Dang no available balance easy to find? That's pretty crappy (and shady).

I'm coming from TD to a local bank. I don't know if they're trying to hide it but I feel like it's misleading. Especially on the app.
I didn't wanna go WF because there's not many near me though I've been seeing them more it seems. Maybe just noticing them more now.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Don't get me wrong, I generally feel the same way too save for sharing some egregious/funny bad beats or stories, but you'd think we'd love to discuss it or see it being discussed.Comment

I always found this sentiment odd, considering how big fantasy football is and how many of us play.

It's when you can't watch a game with someone because they keep bringing it up any time something happens that effects their team.
I think Fantasy Sports add to the value of sports in general, but sometimes people go overboard talking about it. I'm someone who has played a lot of fantasy football too.Comment
