How are you a web content manager for a big company and can't even type up a coherent email? And why the **** are you using smileys?

Oh man I feel you on this. Me and my wife been together 10 years and I swear its a constant question. Then I hit them with, "When I can afford to have a kid!" , the biggest gear grind comes next "You just got to do it, you will find a way to afford it".........wait so you telling me to be irresponsible, then saying a magic $500 a month for daycare is just going to appear. GTFO with that ****. Drives me up the wall.

People who assume because I'm unmarried with no kids that I must be super rich. Nope, it doesn't work like that.

I'm not married and don't have kids because I'm the exact opposite of rich.

What irked me when this applied to me was when people assume because you aren't married or have kids that you aren't as busier than those that are married with kids. People thinking you had no reason to take days off of work because you don't have a wife and kids.

Everyone is busy in their own way. Deal with it.

I get that too. I am married but we don't have kids. "Dude, you must be loaded!" Umm, doing ok, have some money in the bank, but loaded? Not even close.

If you have a house, oh, you have three bedrooms...... Yeah, what's your point?

I can definitely empathize with you guys. My wife and I were together for over four years before we got married and have now been married almost 3 years, so we've heard the "when are you getting married" and "when are you having babies" more times than we can count.

The things I would do for $500 a month daycare....

I have one more month to pay for preschool then it is off to public school for the little one. Can't wait to have a little more financial breathing room.

It didn't make sense to do Daycare for us....my wife's job wasn't that amazing (working for the state), especially when you factor in how sketchy these daycare places can be. Thankfully we can live on my income, just not as nicely as if we had 2 obviously. We'll see how it goes, maybe she can do stuff part time eventually or figure something out, but why pay most of her salary to daycare when they're not ideal for the kid either?

Gear Grinder: Having to bitch about money and the economy. I wish it was not so, but from student loans, child expenses, high food prices, low wages, and a struggling economy, it does not appear it will get any easier any time soon.

That's utterly ridiculous.

I deal with folks offshore (India) with my job fairly often and while I understand their dialect when speaking to them, the emails they send are abysmal.
