Parents who let their children run around/scream loudly/ just generally be little ****s in public.

You're paying good money to enjoy a drink and have some food and you can't hear yourself think because these little brats think it's playtime and their parents are to ****ing lazy and ignorant to tell them to shut up.

(Let it be known that I'm not a parent, I'm not saying it's easy, but I am saying that if your kids can't behave in public then leave them at home.)

For me, as a nonparent as well btw, it depends on how the child is. If it's a newborn baby I am completely ok with it because they are just that a newborn and that's all they do is cry. But if the kid is 5 or 6 yea leave the kid at home if he won't behave properly.

If I know the parent had the option to leave it home with an adult but chose to bring the kid in public anyway, then I'd be mad, but I don't think it's possible to know that in advance. It's gotta suck for parents that have no choice but to bring a noisy *** kid with them knowing full well the little **** is gonna bother people and you don't really have any other choice.

Any child 5 and above should know how to act in public. I might even say 4. If a parent has no control over the child by that age, then that reflects on the parents. Either they are not disciplining the child, or just dont care. Or the child has mental issues.

Well to be fair as soon as they do (and I'm talking just a regular spanking.. not grabbing a board and beating them 1/2 to death) they are labeled abusive parents.. etc...

I forget which state but they just ruled that mild spanking is allowed.

The fact we have to have a law that allows that says a lot....

Yet countless studies have shown that corporal punishment of children leads to increased levels of violence as they grow up.

I would guess (not scientific, just my opinion) that it's often caused by poor communication from parents about why they are spanking their kids.

It's definitely a slippery slope and controversial. I don't know if I would use it if I ever become a parent.

I was spanked as a kid, but nothing over-the-top. I think there's a huge difference between mild spanking and Adrian Peterson type stuff (obviously).

I was spanked as a child and got a belt (last time, I was 8 years old, and by that point, I really had to do some stupid stuff to get it), from both my parents and grandparents. I turned out just fine. Could my parents have been better about it at times? Sure, but I sure didn't get away with doing stuff I shouldn't have been.

Grounding, though, is something I rarely got. I was grounded maybe twice ever. My mom learned quick that if you take things away, 1) I'll either find something else which means I still am enjoying something and not exactly being punished, 2) The stuff she took away like computer, she would still need my help with and I could use the excuse "But you grounded me and said I couldn't use it!". And my dad would give me passes. My mom did ground me from TV during the 98 NBA Finals. I missed game 3 (which was terrible any way from looking back at the score now), but my dad talked her out of it by game 4. And that sadly makes me realize how much I used to really enjoy basketball.

Neighbors who celebrate the 5th of July...I guess 9:30 p.m. is an especially special time for them as it seems to be when they choose to start their elaborate (and illegal in NC) fireworks display in their back yard which is maybe 500 sq. ft. surrounded by their house/my house and yard/a woodline/their other neighbors house and yard.

Yea, I mind it because tomorrow is a work day for many including myself (up at 4:45). Yesterday I could give a **** how long they last, tonight they should be done by dark.

I got up and put a shirt on to go talk to him but they seem to have shut it down.
