Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
When the weather gets a bit nicer in the spring and people ooze out of the woodwork and there's so much extra crosstown traffic. I be like where wuz u in the winter tho, coz?
Also, people jogging and riding bikes hooked up to those baby carrier tank thingies. Surely your infant/toddler doesn't like getting jostled around, stopping and starting, and peering out from behind a mesh screen?? Go out and play in the front yard if you want the youngun to get some rays and/or open the windows like someone who isn't a traffic-disrupting, baby-toting maniac.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Heaven forbid people...gasp...use a stroller and go for a long walk on the sidewalk when they can ride along (or down the middle of) a busy road and nearly get their kid run over by crazy motorists! Maybe I'm just an old fashioned grouch pining away for simpler times. Well, there's no maybe.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Speaking of people with strollers on sidewalks, half the time it seems like people don't understand the concept of "keep to your right". It's not an official rule, but it's proper etiquette. If someone is going one way and you're going the other, then keep to your right, the other person keeps to their right, and you can pass by each other no problem.
But people with strollers insist on staying in the middle of the sidewalk so you can't pass by them on the left or right side of that stroller.
Same goes with people walking dogs, or people walking in groups. If you see someone coming the other way, move to one side and give them space to pass.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Twice in one day today I didn't get a thank you wave for letting someone out onto the main drag.
Elaine: Did you get a thank you wave?
Jerry: No, nothing. How could you not give a thank you wave? Hey buddy!
Where's my thank you wave?
(Jerry sticks his head out the window)
Jerry: Give me that wave!Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
If I leave my debit card inserted in the card reader at the gas station until the screen finally tells me to remove it quickly, it complains I left it in there too long.

Chip readers in general take too long compared to the old swiping method. BooChicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

You're right though, chip readers too are annoying. You're right, they take strangely long. They really have to work on the sound effects of those machines too. I always think there is an invalid error or something with the sounds they make.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I just wanted to play with it today to see what it would do if I waited on the machine. Sure enough, it had card read errors twice in a row. A quick in-and-out was the only thing that worked, which was well before the screen prompt. When it finally popped up I thought: "Yeah, you're late buddy."Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Well, what I'm talking about sort of is a swiper, only you insert and remove as opposed to actually swiping it through. I'm specifically speaking about the card reader at the pump, not inside. Next time they'll just have to cash me outside.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
That's what I normally do, which works just fine. It just "grinds my gears" that they have a system that kind of tells you to quickly remove it when it's already too late.

Next time just try to do what it wants you to do and you probably won't have your gears grinded.Comment
