Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Really starting to think there's something wrong with one of the mailmen on my street(the one delivering packages, not the door to door one).

In the past I've seen him drive his truck straight up peoples driveways, other times I see him just park the truck blocking the sidewalk.

And on various occasions I've had packages not delivered(despite the website tracker claiming it was delivered) and sometimes even seeing complete strangers drop off the package. And now recently I had a package supposed to arrive, the person came and since I wasn't home, they left that "missed delivery" slip that tells you where/when to pick up your package. So I went to that place, just to find out that they have no idea what I'm talking about and that guy never dropped off anything at that location....How is that possible he leaves the missed delivery slip, yet never actually drops off the package at the pickup location?

In the past he also got mad that I lock my screendoor in the front since I never use it(and don't want salesmen knocking on the door), but my driveway screendoor(which is actually closer to the sidewalk than my frontdoor) is open if he needs to deliver something, not to mention mailbox is more than big enough to leave these packages. The last guy I had was great and always delivered stuff mid-day,left it by the sidedoor and everything, but whoever this new guy is sucks.

It's bad enough when individual apps do that.

Whole phone never gets back to the same exact way for me.

The result of my tepid email to the landlord about the safety of the unleashed dog in the busy parking lot:

additional fees for pet waste removal are forthcoming

            i don't...i can't... I just... WTF??

I can only hope this is a generic template they sent out by mistake, but I can't message them again or who the hell knows what the next letter might say

I understand what you are saying here my friend. My mailman refuses to get out of his truck and deliver our packages, so I have to go to the post office and pick them up. When I ask why they aren't delivered they have a list of excuses like it was raining, not that day it wasn't, no one was home, uumm yes there was, it's a safety issue, really?, because the guy drops them off on Sunday if it's from Amazon. So one time I told the girl at the post office just tell me the truth, the guy is to lazy to get out of his truck isn't he? She just looked at me.

Sirius XM's customer service. It's an Indian call center, and like any service they won't take no for an answer when trying to cancel. Had to refuse 4 "special offers" before finally getting them to hit cancel.

So much for the mailmans oath. The city is trying to get community mailboxes for residential areas which is even worse. Who wants to go all the way to end of block in middle of winter to pick up a package. Especially if you get home late. Not to mention you know there'll be vandals doing stuff to the boxes

As for an ending to my story, finally got the package and....The box in BIG BOLD PRINT said "Leave at door"! So this guy didn't do what the box said, but he didn't drop it off at the pickup location either. Some people are bad at their jobs, others are just stupid.

Very rarely do these guys even knock on the door, or wait for answer. In the past if I'm home, they might knock once, and within 10 seconds they bolt for the truck and drive away with the package.

Community mailboxes are far more secure than your traditional mailbox since every box is locked.

Also, packages are locked as well, vandals can't touch them unlike when they are left at your door.

The biggest annoyance with them since they are mass filled is getting neighbors mail and vice versa but even that is very few and far between.

People could still spraypaint them and leaving garbage all around/on top it.

Just don't see benefit of community mailboxes, especially in places where it'll be a chore getting your mail in the winter. Can't imagine how old people might feel about this. Might be too much of a chore for them.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.
