Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
At least your paperwork is right. Literally every time myself or my wife goes to the doctor, they screw up somehow. It’s actually frightening, since these mistakes involve medication sometimes. They were going to give my son another dose of a vaccination he had already had.
Yeah, we lost our collective **** at that one. Immediately left for a new practice. Similar clerical errors, receptionists thinking they know more then us (switching first name and last name).
I pay waaaayyy too much for this “healthcare” to deal with this, but there’s no other option besides continuing to switch around, which only complicates matters anyway.
Please, CHECK your doctors, ASK questions, and read the labels on your medications. I can’t even imagine the amount of people who just do as the doc says, never inquire, and get wrong medication. Especially older folks.
If you’ve had similar experiences, do share. Just yesterday I found out they thought I requested a tooth extraction when I wanted a root canal. I understand why there was confusion because I asked questions and weighed my options, but NEVER did I agree to an extraction. There should’ve been a final confirmation of what procedure I wanted.
It’s insane man. I’m going to share a related story in “The Death of Customer Service” thread, but it’ll actually be a positive post. Lol
also, my insurance keeps trying to double-bill me on copays for one of my doctors. I always pay my copay when I register/sign in and always keep my receipts.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

*******s who litter, especially on your property. We get a lot of dog walkers, bikers, joggers and the like, go out this morning and there are three soda cans and a water bottle just chucked near my swell area.Last edited by LambertandHam; 04-06-2019, 01:20 PM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Dental insurance is a racket.
Spoiler
Decided to get braces last year to fix my ****ed up teeth, was told insurance would cover a portion, but nope, they decided they're not doing that.
Needed periodontal surgery, won't cover it, it's cosmetic. Now I need 2 teeth bonded, won't cover it, cosmetic.

At least when I gotta pay mad money outta pocket to the dentist, it doesn’t feel like a complete hustle because it’s affordable throughout the year. I pay more a month for healthcare than I do a year for dental.
And when did your teeth become separate from the rest of your body so much so that there’s separate insurance? That’s weird.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Telemarketers.
I never answer, but they keep filling voicemail with calls.
Today was the most extreme one I've heard.
They did their typical "hello...hello....hello...." bit, then realized nobody was on the line. They then started swearing, dropping F bomb, because nobody was there.
I still have no idea how these types of "companies" are allowed.
Nobody likes those types of calls. But if its simply from a charity asking for clothes/household items donations, that's fine. Its regular people doing a honest job.
Scammers using internet phone number to try stealing money, they are horrible people.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Yeah, that is pretty extreme.
Reminded me to check my voicemail though as I had a couple from the same number from earlier today, but they only left 2 second voicemails of silence. I actually could've answered the 1st call, but I was in a noisy area and likely wouldn't have been able to hear it well, but I was away from my phone the 2nd time.
I seem to be getting a lot of garbage calls lately that don't' leave messages or are obvious scams. I've gotten 2 that give the exact same message about "consolidating unsecured debt" or something like that with the only difference being the name the woman gave. One actually came up on my caller ID as "restricted" and the other was from an unfamiliar area code.
I recently heard about a new scam where people just call, let the phone ring once, then hang up in hopes that you call back, but if you call back it goes to a 900 number that charges by the minute or something.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I get scam calls from my own phone number and name at times. Also receive about 30 spam emails a day. Most of them be for home warranty or CBD oils.Comment

Most of the weird number/unknown number calls I get are blank voicemails. If I don't know the number I don't pick it up anymore.Comment

Who even calls back an unknown number that leaves no message....
I think I saw it on a movie(and/or just watch too much TV), but given how crazy technology has gotten, could these scammers actually record your voice and replicate it?Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
There are phone apps out there that will block many of those calls. I have one called Hiya and I went from 10-12 calls per day to 2-3

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Not sure about unknown numbers but a lot of the scams will call with a local area code, so the recipient recognizes the area code and calls back thinking it's someone they may knowLast edited by l3ulvl; 05-09-2019, 12:01 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Seeing people on local FB groups asking "I need X service done, but need it cheap" or "I got a bunch of quotes to do X but they're expensive, anyone do it for half that?"
I get being cheap but come on. Gotta be realistic too.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
