Worst horror movie I ever saw was my wedding video. As soon as he says I do, the horror starts
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

And the driving gear grinders continue.

I was driving down a road with construction (2 lanes go up, 2 lanes go down, but 1 going each way was blocked off). After the first wave of construction, theres a sign right there showing that theres another bit of construction literally right after the lights, so stay in the right lane (unless you're turning left at the lights, which is why the left lane opened back up briefly at the lights).

So the car infront of me decides to switch into the left lane, which at this point only becomes a left turn lane. With them going into that lane presumably to turn left off this construction road I figure I'll just finally speed up to the regular speed again. Except now...the car which was literally just infront of me but changed lanes decides to change back into the right lane..in the middle of the intersection!

So despite the sign showing the lanes merge ahead, and the giant orange cones clearly blocking the left lane after the lights (all of which I could clearly see despite a car being infront of me beforehand), this person changed into the left lane, and 5 seconds later tries changing back into their original lane, all while in the middle of an intersection with a car right beside them.

Not only were they clearly not paying attention to the road or signs, they're another one of those "putting on my turn signal gives me the right to turn/change lanes" people, as if "change lanes when safe to do so" doesn't apply because they have their signal on, which they believe acts as an automatic stop sign for everyone else.

I honestly think people believe that. Your turn signal means you have the right of way and anyone in the lane you're turning into should stop because your turn light is on. And then the "change lanes when safe to do so" rule only applies when you dont use your turn signal, as in "it's ok to not use the signal, just make sure in those instances it's clear to turn".

and the thing is, the sequels are always as horrifying as the original. sometimes the only good thing about a wedding is the honeymoon, and not even the honeymoon is immune from a nightmare on newlywed street. yet, having said that, I still can't wait till I meet my new next ex-scary half

Larry isn't even King of Weddings.

Glynn Wolfe is the Jason, Freddy & Michael Myers of weddings.

I tried this for my entire life as a Lions fan, it's the worst way to watch

*fingers crossed* maybe the protagonist will win this time!

I've finally realized the Lions are not the protagonist

Actual gear grinder: losing the senses of taste and smell

Was around my brother last Thursday. He had some general aches and didn't feel sick but felt a little meh and out of curiosity and caution went for a covid test on Sunday that came back positive. Didn't actually go for a test myself yet, but I spent enough time around him and losing taste and smell (happened Monday night) is such a specific symptom that I just assume I caught it and have isolating myself as best I can to ride it out for a couple weeks.

No fever or breathing difficulties or any of the other symptoms to this point, so that's cool? I guess for most people their senses come back as the virus passes, so fingers crossed for me on that one.

I mean, all things considered I'll take the mild experience (so far) over anything more, but man...you don't realize just how much you pick up on in everyday situations using scent until you can't.

People who when given the choice between sharp (or regular) cheddar and mild cheddar choose mild. Like, who did this to you?

I actually don't really care, but to me mild cheddar is like steak cooked well done. I'd rather just skip it altogether.

You guys ever think you turned your alarm off in the morning and halfway through your shower the alarm on your phone starts going off with it laying on your bed? That's what grinds my gears.

and this is why the phone belongs in the shower also too as well. and once the phone is properly cleaned, you need never worry about being rudely alarmed again

Video game companies bending to overly sensitive people.

This could go into uncommon opinions, too, I guess. Since I know it is probably a frowned upon opinion.

Cracks me up when I see media articles all in lockstep, using the exact same terminology without questioning a thing. We are definitely in a race to nerf the world, inventing new and amazing reasons to be outraged, which I'm sure will go well in the long term.

It has built up in me, but the most recent thing regarding Assassin's Creed: Valhalla pushed me over. It was regarding a character's bio and the way they talked about her scars. I am being vague because it has been so long since I read the TOS.
