Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Some narratives are quite strange to work around, though... like the ones when it's something that the player would clearly not know or care anything about, nor is it actually relevant. "He's 2-for-27 on Monday road games when the attendance is less than 30,000 players and the hitter after him homered the night before." Like... what?Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I noticed that. I come from PayPal and had to Venmo some people, and wondered why my payment (as well as others) had their payments visible. I think it's so ridiculous.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Think it was from this thread or maybe another one about "elevator/door etiquette", adding on to that:
People who are clueless when entering or exiting an elevator. There's way too many times I'm trying to get off an elevator, and before the doors fully open someone is trying to get in as if they're surprised this isn't their own personal elevator and they basically just almost walked right into me.
Similarly when entering one. I always wait a second or two once the doors open and even lean in to see if anyone's there. Sometimes people just don't exit. I'll see the doors open, nobody gets out so I get in, and while I'm getting in they look up like "wait, this is my floor!" and dash out. There's not many floors, you really can't pay attention for 10 seconds and notice when your floor is coming up and be prepared to exit the elevator once you get there?
And this one is more about doors in public places. People who don't know what "keep to your right" means. You'll see people walking through doors on their far left not even caring that there's people trying to go through that door the other way (which is on their right hand side). There's multiple doors to go through as well, why not just take 3 steps right and go through that other door?
There's a station I use that has 6 doors. Rule of thumb is 3 and 3. So the 3 on your right is for people going forward in that direction. People still don't understand that and you'll see people just going through whatever door they want which just makes it a mess. Even worse is when even though there's a line of people going through the door they're supposed to, there's still people trying to walk the other way, completely oblivious. Happened to me recently too. Someone infront of me was walking through the door, and once they went through , someone tried dashing between them and me to go through that door the other way. Meanwhile there's 3 diff doors to their right that nobody was using. This isn't a stop sign, it's a door, you don't have right of way...Comment

the walmart thing bugs me, and I guess it's not walmart specific, but just grocery store in general, the placement of carts is always right next to the entrance, which makes sense, unless you walk in at the same time as others and you don't need a cart. The person in front of you is a loose canon, you have no clue how long it'll take this person to grab a cart and potentially wipe it down or set it up or get kids situated. So you stop, and let them do their thing, now the person behind you is annoyed that you stopped, they wanna go around you, the original person is also annoyed, why did you stop? I'm clearly taking a minute to get situated, jerk!
But if you just walk around them, the exact opposite will happen, it'll be "why didn't you wait for me? all I'm doing is grabbing the cart real quick, really jerk? you can't give me two seconds to grab the cart?"

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I haven't gone to stores since 2019. For me, problem solved.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
It’s a premium service, but Instacart (grocery delivery) is worth every penny to me. The time and frustration saved going to the store two, three times a week is worth it. (I would usually shop for 3 days worth of meals so everything was fresh).
Still hit the store to pick up a handful of things here or there, but even that minimal experience reminds me why I hate it. The way people just park themselves in the middle of aisles that aren’t that big and don’t move unless you run up on them finally broke me. Everyone needs to eat so EVERYONE goes to the grocery store. Therein lies the problem.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Not to mention, if we break up, that’s it. Too many options out here(at least where I’m at)to make me wanna run it back with that person again lol#RespectTheCultureComment

I still like going to the grocery store and finding clearance items.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
carts at the grocery store I shop at are outside and a good 15 feet away from the door. So this is never a problem. And at my local Walmart at least, the carts are inside of the store, a good 30 feet from the door. What do annoy me though is my Walmart have an entrance door and exit door and I hate when people try to enter in the exit door.
it's funny you mention this because I tried to enter the "exit" side of a local Meijer and it didn't open. I started using this to my advantage, I can't stand walking to the entrance at the same pace as other people, so I started walking to the exit on purpose, then act like I didn't know it wouldn't open, and let everyone else go first just to avoid awkwardnessWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Adding on to this too, one of the spots I'm talking about, they have door handles on one side and those push bars on the other side.
So the door obviously can open from both sides, but they did it in a way where the doors you're supposed to enter from is the push bar. So not only do people ignore that, they go out of their way to turn a handle to pull open a door on their far left instead of going through the door on the right that they can push open.Comment
