I knew if I went back in this thread I'd find this. I remembered it because this is a huge gear grinder for me. It blows my mind that people can be so thoughtless and lazy that they don't bother clean the roof of their vehicle off. It's snow season in Maine and we've got a lot of them. Every damn winter man.......

you'd think there would be a law. seems to me as litigious as people in the US are, states would want to do everything in their power to keep from being sued.
to me, if there's no law against, then the state becomes liable for not protecting and serving

Over here there is a law that you must clear your car (I believe within a reasonable amount, as in, if theres a top layer of ice/snow stuck on, that's ok, but you can't just have a pile of snow on top that will blow off when you drive).

The thing is, how does it get enforced? Unless a police actually sees a car like that, they can just go and get away with it. I guess if the snowdrift causes an accident, and especially if you have a dashcam, you can prove they're at fault.

Some states, Pennsylvania included, do have laws mandating that people clean their cars of snow before getting on the road. But even if there are laws, some people just plain don't care.

Went to order some Dominos and redeem my slice-of-the-pie rewards for a free medium 1-topping pizza. In the past when I've done this I'd just order the one pizza and only pay for my 2 extra toppings and cinnamon twists plus delivery. Well today I select my order and go to check out and it says I have to order another pizza of equal or greater value. I'm single, I live by myself, I don't need 2 pizzas.

On that note, i dont think I've paid for anything at Dominos in years. Stopped buying pizza once covid hit, started making my own, and only started going to Dominos again when I remembered I had enough points to redeem 2 pizzas. I'm sure the US and Canada chains have diff policies (here we have a free medium 2 topping after you make 6 orders), but if this is a sign of things coming here, I'm glad I redeemed before things changed.

It sucks how so many are changing policies, and many blame Covid for the reason.

Theres various things I've seen that for years it's been a certain way, and now suddenly prices go up.

I know at a grocery store I shop at, they barely have something like bread on sale by itself. Now it's "buy 2 for X, or pay Y for 1". Like, who needs 16 hamburger buns that expire in a week?
