ROFL... my buddy lives down in MD... one time when I was there, the mere mention of "possible snow" closed the schools around him...Comment

 Re: Snow is here!

It is really a b**** shoveling all that snow. Doesn't help that the plows push all the snow right infront of your driveway. I had a foot and a half of heavy slush to shovel this morning, just to be stuck in traffic for an hour. Gotta love it. Comment

Yea I remember a few days when I was in high school we closed due to the "threat" of snow. However it never snowed, it just rained. So we had off for rain, but I wasnt complaining.Texas A&M Aggies

 Re: Snow is here!

I tried to go to work this morning, made it to about I55 exits on I294N for those that are from Chicago and it was a parking lot @ 6:45 am, left the house at 6:00 am. Having another 20 miles to go, I said screw it and just turned around to go back home. I wasn't going to take another hour or so to get to work. Called my boss that I wasn't coming in and just sitting at home watching the snow fall. I just hope this crap doesn't continue tomorrow morning.

The news are saying that the South and Southwest portions of Chicago are going to get hit again Thursday evening into Friday morning, what a way to make a commute suck.Comment

I guess it's all lake effect for us, I'm right on Lake Erie. It usually dies once it goes more inland.Comment

 Re: Snow is here!

It was really eerie early early this morning. The snow was completely covering the streets, the sidewalks, roofs, cars...but not a single flake was sticking to any grass, anywhere.

 That's changed now. Everything's covered.Comment

 Re: Snow is here!

All the trees by my house still have their leaves. We got about 2 inches over the morning. Don't know what the hell the salt trucks did, they decided to only salt certain patchse (not intersections or anything mind you, just random parts of the street). The morning commute was a blast...

The good thing about snow, is that it keeps things looking better here. When the leaves are off the trees everything just looks dead, the snow at least makes it look a little happier.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

 Re: Snow is here!

You're lucky. Same thing happened to me, but I kept going as I knew my boss would tell me to suck it up and drive (he lives in the same area as I do so if he made it in, he expects me to....except he has a 4WD SUV and I don't!). I spent about 5 minutes winding through my unplowed neighborhood, jumped on the interstate and put it in park. 1 hour later I got off on my exit and then spent about 10-15 minutes winding through some local roads until I got to the office building. I never got above 25 MPH the entire 25-30 miles to work.I tried to go to work this morning, made it to about I55 exits on I294N for those that are from Chicago and it was a parking lot @ 6:45 am, left the house at 6:00 am. I think the ride home is going to be even worse.Comment
