Don't call soft drinks "pop" down there or they will laugh at you. But that whole rumor about Texans not liking outsiders is BS, I came down there from Ohio and lived there in Austin for 3 years and I loved it! The people are great and very warm and open with you. I think they are far friendlier than the northern states are. Also, i'm sure you will be surprised just how sports-crazy it is....I know you think you are ready for that but trust me, you're not, heh.

We only get mean if you are one of those "well up north we..." kind of people. If you ever move from up North, leave the north behind and don't try to change things.

Accept the fact that more money will be spent on important things like HS football.

I love it there. Took me awhile to get settled in and meet some new people but now that I have I'm really enjoying the area.

              The reasons are endless.

Financial, political, social, my little brother and sister growing up in filth, etc.

We were looking at the suburbs of Dallas, Austin, or Houston because those are the places my Mom could get a transfer from her work.

I can understand needing a change of scenery. I hope an opportunity opens up somewhere and it works out for you man

Frisco & Plano are two great places to live in the Dallas area.

Yep, I don't know if it's going to happen, but if it ever gets serious, you guys know that OS is the first place I'll look to!

You can find better unless you just want to live in a huge city. Since anyone here is obviously a sports fan, go somewhere with only 1 HS.
