This may be common knowledge to everyone but me, but I just discovered that Josh Brolin (a.k.a Llewellyn Moss from No Country for Old Men) is Brand from The Goonies!

Damn that's a great update on the ol' Dodge Charger!

As for the supreme court decision...Thank goodness the prison system has a coda. I can see some child rapists getting killed in the next few years.

          Re: OS Off Topic

Today at work, I went to the next room and sat next to someone else's MAc (she called sick), doing something because I don't have some fonts on mine and I'm tired of looking for them and adding some of them every now and then. So I called my supervisor to give his approval for something I made, and he told me "You might move here. We may have a seperate room for graphic artists" (seperated from the graphic designers). At first I was like "Huh, why?!", but then I started liking it. It's got to the point that I don't really like my roommate and it's not pleasent to work this way, I can feel some tension. So, if I move to the next room with two other graphic artists, that could be better. As long as I have my Mac moving with me (because I just got more RAM). I hope it's gonna happen...
          My Specs:

          ZX Spectrum
          CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
          GPU: Monochrome display
          RAM: 48 KB
          OS: Sinclair BASIC

Honestly, the emotional trauma that is associated with raping a child is probably worse than if you were to just kill the person. They will suffer and deal with that a lifetime, death is in no way too cruel for that crime.

Multiple or consecutive life sentences does nothing here. Sure they're in prison, but they're getting 3 meals a day, a roof over their head, and access to medical and psychiatric care. None of which is provided to the victim of this crime by the state, they'll be left to deal with this trauma, which includes the prospect that the person who took their innocence is still out there. Since the resources involved for prosecuting the rape of a child are not the same as that of trying a capital case, the states will actually spend more money housing these criminals than if they put them to death.

I am shocked this case didn't go the other way, but this is just another example of Justice Kennedy compromising the integrity of the court to help keep thing on an even keel, as I believe he was the fifth vote in the last case that upheld the use of lethal injection for carrying through the death penalty. They really screwed up here and likely did far more harm in the long run by making states house and attempt to rehabilitate these animals.

Man...So last night I found out I have an eye appointment for early this morning. I'm one of those people that need to know more then a day before because i've got a pretty crazy sleeping pattern. Nonetheless I was game. The spirit was willing but the body wasn't. I watched a couple of my DVDs last night and nearly fell asleep watching one but I caught a 2nd wind and didn't fall asleep til 4 in the morning!

I had to wake up for 6 AM and I was like a zombie. It's amazing I even got out of bed. Ah well...So my glaucoma is pretty bad. I'm virtually officially 100% blind in my left eye. There's no way to regain anymore sight. At least the eye pressure isn't too high. I'm hoping I can retain what little sight I have now for the future when there are procedures which can more or less restore 100% vision to people.

It's pretty discouraging for me to know that i've almost lost vision in one eye and will have to rely on the right eye for the rest of my life. Eventually the vision in that eye will start to go due to age. I might end up being one of those old dudes with a cane and seeing eye dog!

Haha, that makes me think of the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where Larry gets his father some marijuana for his father's glaucoma and ends up picking up a prostitute in the process!

My grandfather got his results back from his PET Scan on Monday and he found out that the chemotherapy had shrunk the liver cancer down to an operable size. They said it is small enough to attempt surgery now, so that is good news. Whether the surgery is successful or not is another story, but at least there is a chance.
