I cant sleep anymore these days. Im tired, i go to sleep at a decent time, but i just toss and turn. It sucks

Try listening to the radio or a CD at a very low volume. The low volume will trigger a REM sleep and you'll at least have some rest.

Yea, thats what ive been doing. No idea whast goin on. No stress, not worried about anything, just cant sleep

Thats what I have done for the past couple years, until my IPOD cord to recharge/connect to the computer broke (and is 50 bucks to replace...). I would reccomend something that calms you down though, not like ACDC or whatever.

I hate my health insurance company. At the beginning of the law school year I signed up for it, paid the premium to be covered, and filled out an online form stating I didn't have any additional health insurance. I didn't go to the doctor's until April, then I was sent a letter telling me to fill out a form stating I didn't have other insurance. Then again I go in May, I get the same form, and then send it in again. Today I get a bunch of invoices stating my claims were denied because I didn't provide them with the requested information, the same information I basically affirmed on 4 separate occasions. The total of the bills had to approach $2000-2500.

I give them a call and can't get through to a service rep. I call back saying I need to speak with someone immediately, and the bitch of a receptionist gives me attitude and puts me right into voice mail. Finally I call my school to discuss this, and the woman at Health Services reprimands my attitude. I'm sorry, I just got a bill for over $2000 when I did what I was asked, I am not exactly impressed with that. Finally the insurance company calls back and what do they say, "Oh, we have it on record we had this form, our bad."

WTF, why is these idiots who can't do their job correctly can find work, but I can't. I lost one job I would have been all but guaranteed because someone in Boston marked me as not having the requisite JD needed for the position, I wasn't informed of this until after they had hired for the position. This **** is just getting depressing. I excelled academically in law school, I made sure to get good experience in school, and yet now the market is over flooded and there are no jobs for new attorneys who didn't attend top 10 schools. I did however meet with another person this week about starting a practice, so wish me luck with that.

In other news, I think I might get hired at my college as a Asst. System Administrator. The current SA likes me I think, and I've been unofficially inducted into the position for the summer.

Are you referring to the coffins that Hezbollah gave you guys in the prisoner swap or something else?

That is pretty sick by them I must say, but given that they are sick, despicable terrorists, I can't say I am surprised by their terrible acts.

Cool down or we'll get this thread locked. It's for a private chat, not for this forum. I can just say that the people here are strong and things like that only make us stronger. But it was (and still) a very sad day. I can honestly say that it's the worst day of my life since Sept 11, 2001. I don't think I've ever listened to the news on the radio so much as I did today at work.
But as I said, we're storonger than this.
Anyway, thanks for the support.

I also see your frustrations about getting a job. I always find it odd that those who excelled in school, did all kinds of things necessary for experience and such can't get jobs. It's like employers are allergic to smart, upwardly mobile people.

Seriously it seems like the jobs available right now are for the stupid and unskilled. I have decided and the guy I may start a partnership with agreed that our strategy will be to provide low cost legal services to the area. Unless we are seriously underestimating some stuff, it doesn't seem like the expenses will be that much at first and malpractice is low the first couple of years. The way I see it is that I will simply engage in predatory pricing and drastically undercut the going rates for attorneys in this area. Whereas most charge $175-250/hour, I will charge around $50-100. I will also try to do some bar advocate (more or less public defender work that pays a lot better) in the Juvenile Court to start then move into the district and superior. I am fortunate not to have any debt from my education thanks to my grandmother marrying into money a long, long time ago.l

I don't need to pay for Westlaw or Lexis as it is provided for free in the law library. If other lawyers in the local bar complain, well it is simply their problem. Ethically speaking, since I lack the experience and "expertise" of more established lawyers I cannot charge the same as they can, so I need to go lawyer. Furthermore, the local lawyers are the ones choosing not to expand their offices or provide new job opportunities, I need to make a living and well I will do at the expense of those who won't give me the chance right now.

I have a good amount of people interested in establishing a firm, some who I know and trust will become highly skilled attorneys with some experience.

Are you saying that because you can't find a job, or that you didn't train for any of the jobs currently available? I know that there is always a need for certain professions, like CS, where you have to be semi-educated and skilled in it.
